Did they do any attraction hiring this year?

Does anyone know if they were hiring for attractions at some point in 2009? I applied last summer when they didn't have any spots and never got a call back. I've been working elsewhere in the meantime and I just applied again (with no current spots) and wondering if it's at the point of the year where we won't see attraction spots open up until next spring...

i would say no, my husband is a trainer for his attraction and has only has CP's and area transfers to train for a while now. I applied back in May and am stuck on the waiting list, and thats with positive rehire status.

If you get a job in another department in Disney, can you internally transfer to attractions at any time? Or is transferring for people who are already in attractions, only?

From what I understand, lots of people in the Disney Company work their way up and around to what they want to do... sometimes you just have to stick it out while you earn your reputation and all. So it might be a long-term goal, but it might happen. :)

I just reconfirmed with a friend... with few exceptions (ie- promotions), you have to be within transfer guidelines to transfer. IIRC, those are 6 months at your current role and have less than 6 attendance points. I don't recall what the reprimand guidelines are.

I too spoke with a manager and said the points wouldn't matter because the are removed from your record card. The incidents aren't removed, but the points are. Depending on how many points, youmay have to wait awhile, and you must be with disney for 6 months.

I believe they ARE hiring hourly CMs, just not any salaried. I don't know for sure because I haven't known anyone thats tried to get a job. I know of people who put transfer requests in,and have been on waiting lists for months and months

Transfer requests for where, though? Like attractions in general or a specific attraction? I've been mildly considering seasonal quick service (foods) and just staying hired for 6 months, but the question lies can I transfer to the attractions department after the 6 months, and can I pick the attraction?

Attraction Areas. ie- Tomorrowland Attractions, AdLib Attractions, Studios Area 1, Studios Area 3, etc. With the more vague ones, Casting should be able to tell you which area has which attractions.

Once you're in the area, management chooses what you learn.. ie- many MANY years ago, I was in Tomorrowland Attractions... I wanted to work Space Mountain, I worked Alien Encounter (and then Alien Complex).

can I transfer to the attractions department after the 6 months, and can I pick the attraction?

You can put in for the transfer, and request which area. If a spot becomes available, and you are picked, the job is yours. If you want out, it helps to be vague.

I remember the first time I applied, I had an interview that same day even though they weren't hiring in that area. Is there any way I can go into the casting center with my application and ask for an interview?
