Did the Spaceship Earth ending have the same problem the Lights of winter did?

Have you ever notice the Spaceship Earth screen show is almost coordinated with the old ending? After the star field a city pops up on the screen all the way up to where the city would be. The the future you created starts after the city and ends at the Spaceship Earth model where at that point Spaceship Earth pops up on the screen. I also noticed is as I was riding down. There is a curtain placed where the city was and I am sure the shiny platform that looked like water is still there.

What was the problem with LoW? It does seem weird that it syncs up, but maybe it's just a coincidence...or something went wrong, Disney are too smart to just have coincidences.

Last thread on Spaceship Earth for a while, I promise. I was doing some thinking while playing Spaceship Earth 3 and 4 at the same time. I noticed something that made me come up with a theory. If you ever notice the screen show is almost coordinated with the old ending. After the star field a city pops up on the screen all the way up to where the city would be. The the future you created starts after the city and ends at the Spaceship Earth model where at that point Spaceship Earth pops up on the screen. In between the city and the Spaceship Earth model there were only light effects so I think the screen was to fill in that part of the ride. To me it almost seems like something went wrong with the old scenery where they couldn't run it. Maybe they had the same problem the Lights of Winter did. If you also notice, where the old scenery was there are no fiber optic stars just sheets. Almost as if they needed to cover the old scenery so the unlit scenes weren't exposed causing an eyesore.

There was nothing wrong with the former finale scene, it just fell victim to the screen technology. More than likely, Siemens wanted newer technology in the attraction and the touch screens were a good way to put the guest into the show and create interactivity. Unfortunately, the screens being used as they are eliminated the need for the finale scene, so that - and probably financial issues as well - is most likely why we no longer have a proper ending. I wouldn't mind it at all if the screens disappeared and never came back.

If just seems kind of funny how the city stops after where it used to end and the Spaceship Earth on the screens starts where the model was. I guess this new ending fits all interests and personalities. Besides the old effects missing I feel this new version accommodates more of the crowd. We still have the old beginning which is way more impressive then even the 3rd Spaceship Earth.

Not to defend the ending too much....but my DD (6) loves it. She would ride S:E a hundred times to try to get different endings (and, obviously learn something along the way).

But to the OPs point, that does seem a bit odd. That the timing works out that well....hmm...

To prove my point look at where the city was where there is now a random curtain and see where the screen show starts. Also take notice at how the triangles are set up. I dont want to start trouble but of you look at the bottom of the curtain it looks like the scenery that was supposed to be the water between both sides of the city is still there just sticking out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ool6Z3EtwIQ

The 1994 scenery was never planned to remain intact. It was ripped out early in the refurb. What was meant to be added in its place however was cut due to the money running out.

And as planned it didn't really hold up. I like the triangles to be honest. They will never fall apart and if so they will be easy and cheap to fix. I can tall there was supposed to be scenery in place of the old do to the way the video runs. Now a question for you... where is this scenery that is absent and will we ever see it? I looked backwards after the star field and got a glimpse behind the curtain and I saw what looked like a pyramid. Now all I can think is that maybe it was a hologram pyramid.
