 I hope that "rehitching" rumor isn't true. We have that on our plans come 2005 for our 10th wedding anniversary.

We were looking forward to it

We were looking forward to it too... but I figured if anyone would know or could find out, it'd be Pam. Thats why I posted under this thread.

They are definately still doing the re-hitching ceremony. I have not heard anything that they stopped. I called and got in touch with Dining Guest services and they said it is still being done.

I spoke to Dining Guest Services today and they told me that it has not been cancelled. Who told you it was discontinued?

From Guest Relations email sent to an inquirer:

"Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort. John, at this time we do not have any information on the availablity of the "re-hitching" ceremony occuring at The Garden Grill in the Land pavillion at Epcot. When you make your priority seating you may indicate that it is your anniversery it will be up to the Restaurant and the staff as to how or if they will recognize the event. Currently, there they are not offering the re-hitching ceremony w/certificate to guest. We are sorry that our offer is not more favorable."

It has also been reported as cancelled on the Intercot website: http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/programs/rehitching.asp

Oh the emotional rollercoaster. From hurray :sohappy: it's still happening to  no it's closed to  why would they shut it down? to oh my head is spinning :hurl:

Well, a polite letter to Guest Relations is in order stating my feelings. This couldn't have cost them that much? What the price of a certificate?

Well, it hard to say what's the real story but thanks for checking this out for us.

Hopefully, if it's gone it will return by the time I go to Disney.

It will be thier lost as this was the only reason I was going to the Garden Grill.

Will be talking to you when the time nears for vacation planning. We have specific desires, but I know you will be able to handle us

Same here. Only reason I was considering GG was because of that. Oh well.. we get to try out Akershus or Rose & Crown instead.

I still wonder what the reasoning is though. Nobody has been given a direct reason as to *why* they quit doing this. Although... this particular line from the letter Grizz posted kind of irks me... you may indicate that it is your anniversery it will be up to the Restaurant and the staff as to how or if they will recognize the event. What's up with THAT :fork: :fork:
