Hiya!
I read in the news section that MK closed today due to hitting capacity.
I'm going down on Friday for a 1 day quickhit and then off to the Magic for a week long Western Cruise.

My family has two destinations in mind for Friday.
1. Mission:Space (EPCOT)
2. Philharmagic and Wishes (MK)

We figure we won't get to MK until about 5pm or so, maybe even later. If the park closes early afternoon due to do crowds do they reopen it in the evening?

Thanks!!!

Thought of a follow-up question... We are planning on Parking at the TTC and catching the Monorail to Epcot.

Do they not let you Park at the TTC if MK is full up??

Thanks again!

Yes, MK & DAK closed due to capacity crowds. MGM is projected to have about 1/3rd more people than they had today/Monday.

Personally i'm expecting this to last all week.

No, you will be turned around just past the Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza and sent back down world drive.

I think so but i am not 100% sure - i was at MGM today. Tuesday is Epcot, i'll be there for park open. If its anythign like the turnstiles were for MGM today, ugh.

Best bet is to get in EARLY and stay the day. Expect lines. LONG lines. TOT/RnRC ran out of FPs by early afternoon and were experienceing 90+ min waits.

First people turned away are day guests (non Disney guests). Then on a sliding scale, it goes up to just Disney resort guests using only Disney Transit. And finally, it hits a point where NOBODY is let in.

Yikes!! Thank God I didn't follow through with my plan to buy cheap airfare and call in sick at work for a couple of days while I head down to the parks. I guess Spring Break and Easter will be doing wonders for Disney this year.

Started a thread in News and Rumors before I saw this.

AK was at Phase 3 by 1 pm. Only letting resort guests in.

Question

If you enter the park in the morning, leave with a hand stamp, and try to get back in after they close the gates (due to too many people), will they let you back in?

It depends on the capacity and if youre a resort guest. If youre a resort guest, you'll be the last person turned away - hand stamp or no. At that point you need to be using Disney Transport to get to the parks.

If you are a guest staying off property, youre pretty much outa luck. They get turned away first. If you have a handstamp and are on a park hopper and are reentering a park (Youve already been to one before it hit that "Phase") youre good until ot hits a certain level.

Eventually the park is limited to Resort guests and then finally closed to everyone (except the seagulls )

Did it close to everyone today? I know that we wnat to go to mk in the morning and be back for a firworks and the parade. We do not wnat to take the chance of taking a break if we cannot get back in. However it is open from 8am-midnight and I do not know if we can make it all day without a break

Okay, Last time i'm posting this.

If You Are A RESORT GUEST ON DISNEY PROPERTY, you'll be OKAY just as so they dont reach complete maximum occupancy.

If you are not, i suggest you bring a blanket and find a place for a midday nap once you are in the Kingdom. Day Guests are the first ones turned back. If you are a day guest w/ a handstamp, you are in that mystical grey area that will depend on the current number of people at the parks as to whether or not you can get back in. If you leave, that is the risk you are taking.

Disney does not publish nor does it tell its cast members exactly what those numbers are. Personally, Im willing to bet that tomorrow will have all parks full except Epcot. My gut feeling is that this definetly will happen one day this week. (And if all four somehow close, Im sending DonickCo out to get pictures of signs!)

REMINDER - This week is only Surpassed by Christmas-New Years as for number of people in the parks. Plan Accordingly.

The Last HURRAH!

This is it.. this is the last and final "push" of tourists/snowbirds. After Easter, they all flock up north again to settle in for the summer months there.

Right now, in Naples, FL , we're getting our last big "push" of tourists/snowbirds before Easter. Then after Easter, the roads clear out and we can reclaim our roads, stores, restaurants, etc. again.

To everyone who works at WDW in the food industry -- enjoy this weekend. Makes lot of $$$! :)
