Since I travel a LOT, I do not mind $40 or $50 a night hotel rooms. But the fiancee wanted to upgrade this year.
So I finally dug into my skymiles (how cheap am I, right? but it's smart), and got 2 free nights at:
Radisson Resort Orlando Celebration
2900 Parkway Boulevard, Kissimmee, FL
Then we got 3 additional nights at $80.10, which is the going rate on expedia.com, hotels.com, the hotel 1-800 #, and the hotels website.
So at the end of the day we spent around $270 for 5 nights at the Radisson. This is for the 3 nights at $80.10 + taxes, etc...
We spent $10 less last year at the Howard Johnson on Highway 192. To me, it did the job. We woke up at 8-9am, went to Disney parks, came back around 4-6pm, dressed up for dinner, went to dinner, came back around 8-9pm, went to sleep, woke up showered, went to WDW. To me a hotel room for $50 is the same as one for $80 or $200 (I've stayed at plenty of $200 hotels that look worse then a Hojo, Motel 6, etc...)
So will the Radisson be decent, good, great? It looks like I can spend lots my free time playing "Diving for Spoons" or my favorite "Rubber Ducky Pool Slide Race" LOL.
