DHS to Epcot-- Bus or Boat?

We're planning to leave DHS for our dinner ADRs at Le Cellier, but we're not sure whether it's faster to take the bus and walk back to WS or to take the boat to the International Gateway. Do the boats stop at the resorts in between, or is there a boat right from park to park?

There is bus service to Epcot from the Studios, but I'm definitely sure that the bus is faster than taking the boat. The boat is relaxing and great...but it's slow and stops at every resort along the way. I would take the bus, but if it's around DHS closing time and you try taking the bus to Epcot then be prepared to give yourself extra time and expect some crowds because crowds at any park closing at the buses are very crowded.

Well, the *fastest* way from DHS to Le Cellier may be walking, depending on how fast you walk.

The walk from the DHS turnstiles to the International Gateway turnstiles via the Boardwalk pool area is 1.17 miles. Add in another 0.22 miles from the IG to Le Cellier and you have 1.39 miles.

The walk from the closest bus stop at Epcot (not sure where the DHS bus drops off) to Le Cellier is 0.57 miles. So, you have to figure out which would be faster over that difference of 8/10 of a mile. If the bus is sitting there waiting, then the bus would probably be faster. But if you have to wait much at all, walking could be faster. And depending on the time of day, at the Epcot front entrance you may run into a line at bag check and the turnstiles, whereas the IG rarely has much of a line.

You also can weigh which would be the most relaxing. The boat would give you the least amount of walking, but it's also the slowest.

The boats will stop at Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk and Yacht/Beach Club.......it can take a while, depending on how many people are needing to board/get off at each dock.

It's a nice relaxing ride though........helps to save the legs for later in the evening too.

Unless you can walk straight onto a bus, walk it. It's a nice walk. However, if you are doing it with small children, it will be grueling. Unless you are a nut like me who just puts them on your shoulder and goes. You could wait 20 minutes for a bus. It could take 20 minutes from the time you get on the bus until you get off the bus. Then you have to go through bag check, and walk all the way to Canada. The boat is great, IF you can walk right on. You can always get off at any of the resorts and walk the rest of the way.

Agreed! If you get off at the Yacht/Beach Club, it is a short walk to the International Gateway.

I would highly recommend the boat. It is definitely the most relaxing, plus you'll save time ( I would imagine) by using the International Gateway vs. the front entrance to EPCOT.

Big fan of the walk here too! It took us 22 minutes from DHS to YC and we were just strolling. You don't mention when you are going. If the weather is pleasant like in April, definitely walk. If you are vacationing in July/August when humidity is at 90%, the walk might be too much on the body. The boats are slow but offer a chance to sit for quite some time.

PS. 1,500th post - woohoooo!
