One of our planned days starts at 7.30 am at Chef Mickeys and ends with Fantasmic. With two children it will be a very long day . We plan to take a siesta but are concerned about getting back to CR in the evening after such a long day, we would like advice on getting back as quickly as possible .

A taxi looks the quickest what do you think ?

I think you are over planning. Unless there is some medical reason that requires being in bed by a certain time I wouldn't worry about it. Kids are resilient and if they do melt down from being tired you are then presented with a valuable teaching moment.

How old are the kids? That would probably determine your plans more than anything else. As stated above, I would stick with Disney transportation. Not sure about the laws around car seats/taxi's and little ones. That is why Disney transportation is probably the way to go. :cat:

I agree with stick to Disney transportation. Also what time of the year are you going? You can always check to see if there are two showings of Fantasmic? I'm not sure if they do this. They do with World of Color in California. If they do, you can choose the earlier one and then head straight to the bus afterwards. Also unless your doing a fantasmic dinner package, play it by ear, and see how the kids are doing by late afternoon. I know as parents, you really want to try to see everything, but you also don't want to wear your kids out too much. Otherwise they may be on the more cranky side the rest of the trip.

We used to take midday breaks at our resort when our kids were younger. We knew our kids didn't nap well in strollers - especially not with all of the sensory overload of a park going on around them - so a decent snooze back at the resort made them happier and allowed us all to enjoy longer evenings in the parks. It was just part of our plans each day and we always relied on Disney transportation to get us there and back. The bus service for the Contemporary has always been great from our experiences.

Thank you for the advice .. we have booked the dinner and fantasmic package . The children are 9 and 11 so no problems with strollers thank goodness however it will be the day after we arrive in the US so jet lag will be a factor

If the bus is handy we shall jump on, is there a direct one to CR ? how long is the journey ? We will be there last week in April I don't think it will be very busy . I worry about buses as some have said that there are long waits and lots of stops . Thanks in advance .

I don't know if you are going to the first or second Fantasmic , but it has been my expeience that after the las show of Fantasmic they have buses literally lined up and as soon as one leaves there is another there to replace it, so you should get on a bus rather quickly.

If I were you and had the early ADR, I'd opt for a taxi TO HS. For me, that's when I'm most frantic is trying to get everyone out. I think on average you'd save yourselves about 10-15 minutes because you're not waiting for a bus.

The way home, I don't think the buses are that bad for the ages of your kids. Especially not if there is very little wait for the buses.
