Disney owns the muppet brand now. They bought it about 3 years or so ago. The only announced thing they are doing with the license is a new movie being written and directed by the creators of Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Disnet doesn't own the Muppets outright. They only have creative control. It's still owned by the Muppets Holding Company.

There's actually a game on the Muppets website with Dr Honeydew and Beaker where you can there is a FX generator. I wonder if there is anything to to do with that...

Never mind... they had the game, but the site has totally been redone from what I remember it. I went there to link it, but no luck... Can anybody else remember this too???

I know exactly what you're talking about. That's actually what I thought when I first heard about it. Judging from the picture, it has tubes with different colors, and I remember something like that from the site. Maybe it'll do some fun special effects.

Maybe they'll aslo bring back the Muppet Labs Beaker and Dr. Honeydew Animatronic to the Studios.

I don't think this is a coincidence that the same time the Toy Story props are dissapearing from Pizza Planet, Muppet props are starting to appear. This is definitely evidence towords Pizza Planet being taken over by the Muppets in the near future. At least I hope it is.

I don't think that is the whole story. I seem to remember some involvement with the Jim Henson's family.

But whatever. I wonder why they would add the FX Generator was added if they hardly ever use the outdoor line of Muppet*Vision 3D?

This has been discuss in the Forums. and Disney owns the rights and likes of the Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House as The Muppet Holding Company, LLC. This includes the Muppet trademark.

I was surprised how Disney has let Bear in the Big Blue House fall off as it has. Bear was huge for kids and very popular at the registers from what I could tell. We've wondered why that happened. Maybe an agreement between the Jim Henson company upon selling the rights or something.
