You need some structure to it or some contestant could make up things like a space elevator that really goes to space and say that it will cost just $53 million... Yeah, right! Or plan on building on land that has sink holes. Reedy Creek tells you what land is buildable. Just an element of real world realism to make it fair game!

yeah, but it's going to be kinda annoying to focus on the costs and structure of our products.

Even though, I know you're into that stuff.

That's why the judges will basically look that stuff up for the contestants. It helps if the contestants do a little research, but the final research will be on the shoulders of the judges. It's not hard. Reedy has a book online that has it. Costs can be derived from articles on past projects.
