DHS and AK = "junior" parks?

Here's a wild idea in terms of Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, one that I'm sure everyone will object to. Given how there's fewer attractions in these parks than in the Magic Kingdom or Epcot, do you think they should be "demoted" from "theme park" status to "junior theme park" status?

Well, consider how much each park has to do, in comparison to the MK and Epcot. I really think that those two have a whole lot more to do than the Studios and AK. Everyone is always griping about how much those parks are always considered half-day parks, so that's what sparked my interest.

Actually, I've never understood the "half-day" concept. I've always had full and enjoyable days at both. I will grant it takes more than a day to be satisfied at either EPCOT or MK, but the only way either of DHS or AK are half-day parks is if you only do anything once and skip some stuff.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is one of the most amazing theme parks ever created and Disney's Hollywood Studios actually has MORE attractions than EPCOT (Depending on how you count Innoventions) and since many of them are shows are require time to sit down and probably arrive early to try to get a good seat, It's easy to spend more time experiencing attractions at DHS than EPCOT. EPCOT has a lot more atmosphere entertainment though.

Actually, I kinda was including Innoventions. I just thought that Epcot had so much more to do than the Studios, given the fact that everyone complains about how little there is to do there.

But the Magic Kingdom and Epcot each require an absolute MINIMUM of two days to see and do everything. And they require a great deal of walking to boot!

EPCOT needs at least two days, i have been for like ten years and still have not done everything, DHS and AK i am sorry to say, i love them but i can do everything up to 3pm except anything that it is at night (fantasmic), its back to the hotel after that!

I can see AK being a half day park, or much more of a casual gate.

For me the reason is that we all zoo's in major American cities, and all are pretty comparable to the types of animals found at AK. I can see how it is a def half day park for the casual guest, someone who doesnt bury themselves in the small details. I love small details... so I can spend a whole day just shooting small nuances.

You're doing it wrong.

(Granted, I've done a solo trip during off-peak season) but I can't fathom not being able to do everything in EPCOT in two days (even less if you walk fast...)

I do *most* of Epcot in a day.

And to the original point, I wouldn't call them junior theme parks, but they are definitely half day parks. (I'm curious to see how much time you can spend in Avatar-land. I loved the movie, so that alone will probably bump DAK up to a full day park for me, especially if it's open later.)

And yet Disney is doing all it can to pronounce the park as "Nahtazu" (meaning "not a zoo").

Each gate has full-day potential. Many guests just choose to overlook the entertainment offerings and smaller attractions in search of the more thrilling options.

I can always fill a whole day at both of those parks, although i need more than one day for both MK and Epcot. But still, i really don't think about them as not as good.
