Detroit Red Wings?

Can someone explain to me why hockey, especially the wings, are so great? My boyfriend loves them, and I am trying to understand why they are so cool. He understands my music/band/marching band obsession, but I just dont get hockey, could someone help me out?!

Well for one.. and I don't know if this is still correct since I haven't watched hockey in forever but.. they have Sergei Federov, who completely owns hockey hands down. Second, they are just great.. LoL. You'll get it, don't worry.

Fedorov is not "da man". That would be Brendan Shanahan. The Wings are the best hockey team ever assembled in like forever. They've got Fedorov, Shanahan, Curtis Joseph, Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Nick Lidstrom, and so many more. That's why they're so good. Plus they're the defending Stanley Cup Champions.

They are the Yankees of hockey. They aren't going to be on top for much longer I don't think unless they just go out and buy more of the top younger players. Fedorov, Shanahan, Yzerman, Hull, Lidstrom are all within 3 years of retiring.
