Details of Pirates 4

According to a website, Will and Lizzie will be cut out. While the fountain of youth will be involved, another, greater pirate will appear, and it will be somewhat Sci-fi. (Think Jules Verne) Even bigger, the film will involve a trip to Atlantis.

Don't expect it anytime soon, however. Captain Jack and his misfit crew won't start filming into 2011-2012.

I just told my twelve year old daughter (completely crazy about POTC, favourite thing about last years trip to WDW was the Pirates shop that you end up in after the POTC ride where she spent all of her money!) that the filming for new movie wont start until 2011 at least. Shes gutted.........

I'm glad they are taking a few years off.....Everyone involved worked really hard on this trilogy and they need some time off....Plus, the people that are sick of the franchise (not me, of course:ROFLOL will be even sicker of it, if P4 was to come out right away....Disney doesn't want to run the franchise into the ground.
I fiugured Will & Elizabeth would not return...Both Orlando Bloom & Keira Knightley pretty much said , their stories are over....I am a Will & Liz fan, so I would've loved it if they returned, but let's face it, Johnny is the face of the franchise, so as long as he is back, thats all that matters.

Here is something to keep in mind regarding the Pirates ride:

The ride starts where the movie ends! Captain Barbossa & Co. have the ship, and Jack has the map!

The only problem with that is that Barbossa is on the Wicked Wench.

But that isnt a problem, either, the Black Pearl was the Wicked Wench before it was the Black Pearl.
I did read a rumor somewhere though, that they were going to change the WW in the ride to the BP..:shrug:

If they make a fourth movie, I hope its somewhat of a spin-off movie rather than a continuation of the trilogy. Sort of like the afterward to the trilogy. And I do hope that the Jules Verne thing is just a rumor and not for real, because that sounds real iffy to me...

Keep in mind that because of Writers Guild of America Strike ,Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio have either not written a single line of Pirates 4, or are not very far in the writing process.

Jim Hill (I know, I know) reported on the Magical Definition Podcast last week that because of the strike and Depp's obligations to other films that filming couldn't start until late 2011 or 2012.

This rumor has been around for a long time (about Will and Elizabeth, Atlantis, Jules Verne type characters, etc...).

I've even heard that there may not even be any focus on the whole Fountain of Youth concept.

This is really the only official thing I've seen about a possible sequel. It's from an interview with Pirates director Gore Verbinski:

Q: Are you planning on doing a 4th part?
A: I think the trilogy is now complete. All of the stories set in motion by the first film have been resolved. If there ever were another Pirates of the Caribbean film, I would start fresh and focus on the further adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow.

I'm not buying it at the moment either. I had heard of all of those ideas months ago as just rumors. 2011 is pretty far off...if they are planning on making another one and that is the plot, I'll bet that it changes along the way and the movie has nothing to do with what has been stated in that article. It's not like studios to announce a large popular movie and then be like.. "Well, we're not going to do it for another 3 years." They would announce it and then begin filming within the year...or...the story is that bad that they want to see multiple versions from different writers.
