I thought the show was terrible
I have to say, that I thought this show was horrid. Maybe I am giving it too close an eye but the show seemed very bush-league and not up to the standards that I expect from a disney special. It doesn't come close to anything on the discovery channel, etc. A few of my issues with the show.
- This really wasn't a top ten list in the true sense of the word. I mean come on, with Pop Century resort being #10 and the whole magic kingdom moutain chain being #5 (I think). To me those aren't even nearly close to being the same kind of choice.
- I swear 20% of the show was those darn diamonds with the numbers in them rolling across the screen.
- As stated above, the wishes footage had the stitch TP'ed castle in one shot and then stock footage in another. Could this production had waiting the one day it would have taken to shoot a clean wishes with the TP'ed castle or knowing the castle was TP'ed not use the stock footage?
- Speaking of stock footage, a lot of it was used here. From the space moutain footage (wrong cars) to fireworks. They even used it during the camp mickey and minnie footage. During a sequence with all the character they start to show pocohantas and all of sudden there she is in MGM talking to the kids. Then right back to AK.
- The crush and gusher sequence had be really PO'ed. They talk about the attraction and then they pull out this imagineer who says we are going to get a behind the scences look at the attraction, they proceed to give the host a hard hat and she goes to the camera and and says that what we are about to see is secret but to make sure you tell everyone. AND THEN THEY JUST GO TO THE NEXT #. I mean, come on, if you are going to give me a backstage look at the ride - give it to me.
I guess I was expecting more quality from this show. If you are a Disney fan (and what are you doing here if you aren't) then definately watch it. But don't expect the excellent of the undiscovered disneyworld or other such disney fair you have seen on cable.
