Need a new director next year. It's like they didn't see a rehearsal.
You can tell the preshow prep was done when they thought HM's movie would be a hit in theaters because they made sure to tie in the singing bust reference from the movie.

I was thinking the same. The sound mixing and camera choices have been odd for a big coporation. Feels like a mid sized contemporary church session livestream.
I guess the herc focus with three songs in a row for opening and getting to this thing is to remind us that Disney being a company of constantly adding and building is ancient history.
