Dessert Party

We are planning our very first Disney trip for our family of 7 next October. We are going to get the Halloween Party passes and are thinking about the Dessert Party passes.

I guess my biggest question is if it is worth it. I read a bit about it and the reviews were mixed. A lot was talked about the lack of space in between table and the views. I would love to do this but I don’t really want to pay the extra cost (especially since we are a family of 7) if it’s not going to be worth the money.

Has anyone ever done this and if so what were the pros and cons you experienced? If you have and didn’t think it was worth it, would there be anything different you would recommend?

We will be experiencing our first dessert party in two weeks. I'll let you know how it goes.

With that said I'm sure this will be a one and done for me due to the price. This will be a special occasion so I went ahead a splurged for the dessert party. I've heard great things about the garden viewing area, which is what we'll be doing. I know you can also sit at the tables during HEA but I'd rather be in the garden where you're more up close and personal. The reviews on the desserts seemed to be just....meh, but I'm willing to give it a try for the experience.

I did the Osborne’s Christmas dessert party at HS a few years ago...2015. It was not at all worth it. For what they charge, and what they offer....and, realistically what you’re going to eat, no way. I only did it because my friend wanted to go, but I’d never do it again.

You are going to get very mixed answers because what is worth it to some may not be worth it to others. If you are talking about the dessert party within the Halloween party then I say it isn’t worth it. If I’m paying to go to the party there is no way I’m paying extra for cheap desserts and wasting precious party time to eat them.

Worth is subjective. I have done multiple fireworks dessert parties and we enjoy the view, having a place to hangout away from crowds, but find the actual desserts are kind of meh. They used to be better, but weren’t the last time. However, I would not do a dessert party during a hard ticket event because dessert parties eat up a lot of time. I would rather use that time enjoying all of the events of the party, rather than hanging out for fireworks.
