Dessert Party during MNSSHP

I am thinking of trying to get a reservation at Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party during this years Halloween Party. For those who have done this during a party night, how was it? How are the views of the fireworks? We usually try to get a spot on Main Street, which takes up a large amount of time sitting & waiting. How are the desserts? Also, it's my understanding that it may not be offered 180 days in advance, is this true? We are not staying on property as we are going on The Magic and will stay with family a few days after in Orlando & hit the party then.
Any advise or input is definitely appreciated.
Thanks :)

Some people are reporting that you need to wait just as long with the dessert party to be able to get a spot on the railing to watch. Otherwise you end up under the overhang and cannot see everything. With all the candy available with the cost of park entry, I don't know if I would pay more just get dessert.

Yes, usually the booking opens up later than the 180 days at seemingly random times.

Good point!!! We usually book a 4pm dinner inside MK, but was looking to try something different this year.

IMHO it does not make sense to do the dessert party during a hard ticket event. For the cost to get into a hard ticket event and then be tied to the dessert party which will take about 1 1/2 hours out of your night for an additional cost. You miss way too much during the dessert party. BTW I don't even like viewing the fireworks from the reserved location.

I am all for having an early ADR either in MK or one of the MK resorts and then being unrestricted for the party and all of it's special treats.

Do the dessert party another night other than the MNSSHP.

I would completely agree with this. You pay so much for both why would you have them overlap. Do them on different days and get your full enjoyment out of each.
