I showed my DW and 4 teenagers the photo and they begged me to book there. "Only" (;)) $480/night for early Thanksgiving week with my AP discount but $720/night for those not smart enough to buy an AP for $280.

$720 - $480 = $240 meaning the AP pays for itself in less than 2 nights.:D

That's why we keep our Uni passes! (plus we're locked in at a rate from 5 yrs ago) I LOVE kidsuites!

We stay at Portofino when at Universal. Would not stay in this room. That hotel is so elegant, why would they do this to it?

It's only in the kids bedroom- kids don't want "elegant". If you don't have kids, you wouldn't (i'm guessing) be needing this room. There used to be Suess themed kidsuites there- I'm guessing this is taking place of those. The JP kidsuites don't really fit in with RP, but again, the kids have a space that's "theirs". I hope they do something similar at HRH- I love it there but was hoping for something a little funky in the kids room. :)

See I guess it is how the children are raised. My kids grew up with FC and POR, AK, etc. and later the Portofino. all of which the decor was not cheesy. They did indeed want to stay at those resorts. They enjoyed the beach club and the pool area, didn't miss funk. I guess all of our children crave different things just like we adults do. But at least Portifino kids room isn't as eye assaulting to me as AoA rooms and their beds don't flip out of a table or a chair so it is a step up that way having dedicated beds/rooms. We have stayed in the kids suites at Hard Rock and they were very nice, loved their pool as much as Portofino however the hotel was 'loud' at night, didn't care for that so we are back to Portofino. That is what I always liked about POR as a moderate, it was a calm and quiet resort, I don't do funk though I do enjoy it in the parks, that is enough for me.

Also- seems PBR is not getting as much bookings as HRH and RP- they are the only ones offering AP discounts this summer. Maybe they are trying to draw new people there. I'm a die hard HRH fan- the louder the better:D

"If it's too loud, you're too old" \m/>.<\m/ (Or as my DD says, "Rock and Roll, Dude" while flashing the horns, lol.) Yeah, we all raise our kids differently.
