Designer Burgers

While we knew these were being tested in a few locations, it looks like the 1/3lb designer burgers were a hit. If you didn't see, here is a posting from today's Parks Blog that shows off all the different angus burgers you can get in the parks.

I approve. The standard Disney burger is pretty unappetizing. And I'm usually a burger fiend. But I don't eat a lot of burgers in the World if I can avoid it.

As a fan of highly spiced food I dont eat a lot of burgers but I do enjoy them on occasion. They do look rather superdefluff, though I cant help but think they would be a rather messy affair when eating.

I like what I see, the burgers definetly need an upgrade. Actually all the counter service food needs and upgrade.

I'm not sure I dig how many of those burgers feature avacado, but I'm glad to see some premium options available, and at quite a few locations too.

As soon as I saw this I remembered another thread here where someone mentioned that if Liberty Inn was stuck serving burgers, at least they should be something better than the standard Disney burger. Looks like Disney agrees!

I also like how the some of the burgers are themed to the locations they are served. That shows that Disney not only took time to develop the meal, but put thought into the location they were creating it for.

Most of the time I am not a fan of sticking random junk on a burger. Case in point - 'crunchifying' a burger at Bobby Flay's place for example.

However, these do look pretty good. Some of them are a bit overloaded - that one with the fried shrimp stuck on top for example. But the majority of them seem pretty good. As Pumbas said, messy, but good. Avacado on a burger is tasty, but it just goes everywhere when you bite it.

We tried 2 of the designer burgers on our recent trip. We tried the avocado burger at Cosmic Ray's and the barbeque burger at Pop Century. They were very tasty! I am very picky about my burgers and really enjoyed both of these "designer" burgers. The avocado burger was a little bit messy. While, I did enjoy both burgers I preferred the barbeque burger. It wasn't as messy as the avocado burger and the onion strings added a great crunch to the burger.:slurp:
