You may already know that Tables in Wonderland, the Disney dining club for Florida residents and Annual Passholders who pay the extra fee, routinely holds high-end special events for members. About once a month, they usually are just very nice chef-created dinnners at the restaurants -- usually with a theme.

But sometimes they occur in special places. And this month's one I just saw seems really cool. It is being held at the "Design and Display Warehouse," which I did not know existed. Check out out the event discription in our invitation:

Tables in Wonderland Special Event

Design & Display Warehouse

Saturday February 25, 2012
6:30pm – 9:00pm

Price: $95 per person, plus tax. Gratuity is included.

The Park Event Operations Design and Display team dreams, designs, and creates themed atmosphere settings for Conventions, Special Events, and many other activities throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. From concepts to renderings, through finished construction, the Design and Display team can bring any “theme” to life. They use their talent, experience, and design skills to design and build custom pieces for events. With hundreds of props, sets, and backgrounds in the warehouse, they create the perfect atmosphere and surroundings for events. This is your opportunity to peek “backstage”, and see historical Disney pieces like the Nautilus and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride! Come meet the Design and Display team, learn about what they do, see all the props up close, and enjoy a Buffet Reception with fellow Tables in Wonderland members!

Doesn't that seem cool? The most interesting part that I found was the revelation that the Mr. Toad's Wild Ride props were still around! And you could have dinner around them.

Sounds fun. Wish I could do it.

I have to admit some of these dinners that I have seen seem like a lot of fun. Very pricey, but a lot of fun! At least one has been held at the Haunted Mansion after hours.

They also sell out very quickly, usually. And usually, theme park admission is not included if required.

Long drive for dinner, also.

That sounds pretty good. I wish it was a better date so I could get there to try it out. I'm waiting for the next time they host dinner in the Great Movie Ride again, that event seemed awesome.

sounds like a dinner at the old special effects stage (building behind the watertank) in DHS...

I really wish I had cash for tables in wonderland, cause I would love to attend some of these special events! (Though we did see the natalus and toad cars at the public day for the pin/vynal event at epcot a while back)

I'm REALLY skeptical about this one. The name implies its in a warehouse but where does it say that it really is? The whole "backstage" in quotes doesn't give me hope. My bet? It's at Epcot at the World Showplace tent. Can anyone confirm where this is being held?

This sounds neat, whether it's actually backstage or not. Honestly, if they're bringing the props out, I'd kind of rather it be in the World Showplace tent (or somewhere similar) than a dusty, dirty warehouse (who wants to eat around that?).

I'll be there when this is happening, too. I might have to go...Do they usually let you take pictures of the props?
