I think IoA was up for 2002, I believe everyone else dropped.

This was, in part, due to the move of Halloween Horror Nights from US to IoA.

Yeah, I think you're right, I heard that the Horror Nights saw big crowds so that means that IoA must have taken some of US numbers meaning that US must have had a large decline in numbers.

At least Cinderella isn't lonely

Things aren't too desperate yet... breakfast with Cinderella in the castle is still a hot ticket. My wife and I called all last week (our 60 day windows) and couldn't get in.

Guess we'll go eat with poor old Mary Poppins instead!

We saw Mary Poppins a few years ago in the garden behind the U.K. pavillion and there wasn't a big crowd around her then. Like somebody said, if it was Mickey who was standing all alone, we'd have cause to panic.

The individual who wrote this story most likely made a conscious decision to choose a less popular character to illustrate the point that attendance is down. There may have been a mob of kids surrounding another character just a few feet away.

I was at WDW last summer and it was fairly crowded. Maybe this article twisted things around and was talking about a moment of the low crowd season? Early Fall and after New Years' is known to take a dip in crowds. The Disney Resorts are still doing well, and I believe the Parks will last for much more time.
