Departure Day Breakfast

My fiance and I are going on our honeymoon in July. We will be staying at All-Star Sports. On the morning of our depature, our plane leaves the airport around 1:30pm. So we don't have a lot of time to play with that morning. However, I thought we could go somewhere for a nice breakfast.

The Maya Grill at Coronado Springs looks lovely and we can get a PS for 7:00am. If we do so, will we have enough time or will we be too rushed? We are using Magical Express to get to the airport. How do we get to Cornoado Springs from Sports? Is there another restaurant that we could make a PS for that would be easier to get to? Thanks for your help.

How about Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge? You could get a bus to Animal Kingdom, and then a short bus ride from Animal Kingdom to the Lodge (2 mins away). The Lodge is spectacular, and would be a great way to end your trip.

I think I ruled out Boma because of the price. Would I get to Coronado Springs the same way? Bus to AK and then take another bus to CS?

Boma is around $16, Maya is around $12 for the buffets. I would say for that difference, Boma is the much better choice. It's an experience to itself, and a great chance to have a look around the hotel and see some animals and the savannah. :)

You could get to Coronado the same way, via AK or MGM.

Ok. I have just looked at the menu and you sold me. I'll spend the extra eight bucks (for the two of us) to see the animals and this beautiful resort I've been hearing so much about. I will make one for Boma.

The only thing is, it opens a half hour later. Given what I said in my original post, would we still have lots of time or will we be too rushed?

I couldnt agree with Steve more!! Boma is amazing as is the resort that it is in. Assume two hourrs for the meal itself ( and some wandering time) and allow one hour for transport to and from All stars to a park to AKL and Back. Belle

So if we are back at Sports by 11:30, is that enough time to use Magical Express to get to the airport for a 1:30 flight to Toronto? That seems to be cutting it awful close, doesn't it?

I think it will depend on how long you take for breakfast. For me, 1-1:30 hours is more than enough. Will you be taking your luggage with you or do you have to go back to your hotel to pick it up? If it´s a carry on, I´d take it with me and leave it with the bellboys at the AKL. :)

Call Disney and tell them what you want to do and they will tell you the best way to go about it.Once you check out in the morning the luggage will be on its way.So you should be able to leave straight from AKL.

That would make my day but I don't think it's the case. We can't check in for our flight at the hotel because we fly with Air Canada and have to clear customs and whatnot.

...but if you are there with your luggage at 7:30-8 for breakfast, why can´t you be done by 10am and leave for the airport from there? *scratches head*

Hmmm....I'm just wondering if it would be a major inconvenience to take our luggage on the bus. At that time in the morning though, it probably won't be that crowded. And you think I can check it with AKL while we eat? I will call WDW to see if they will let us leave from AKL instead of Sports. Do you think that would be a problem?

I believe this is correct as well so I dont think it would be a problem. Just let Disney know what your intentions are so you can get picked up at a decent time for you to do all the stuff at the airport. Belle

I'll put my vote in for breakfast at Polynesean's Kona Cafe. They have reasonable prices and great service. The restaurant isn't buffet but the food is wonderful. Try to Tonga Toast, I highly recommend it.

But being at Poly makes it very easy to get to from any resort. Just bus to MK and monorail back to Poly.

Moustronaut is correct, although I would expand that line of thinking to include O'Hana's, Chef Mickeys, and 1900 Park Faire. All are all you can eat breakfast to send you on your way with a full tummy. If time is a concern on the day of your departure, change Boma to a different day but as previously mentioned, dont miss it It is amazing!!!!! Belle

On our upcoming trip we're having breakfast at Boma, 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's, Kona Cafe, and 1900 Park Fare. I've never been to Boma, Kona Cafe, or 1900 Park Fare and I've only had dinner at 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's so I can't make any recommendations, but out of the 5 breakfasts I'm most looking forward to Boma - just because I'm dying to see the Animal Kingdom lodge. I alloted 3 hours total for the meal - 30 mins to get there and get a table, 1 hour to eat, 1 hour to explore the lodge, and 30 mins to get back.

Breakfast starts at 7:30 so leave at 7, get your table at 7:30, finish eating around 8:30, then just wander around until 9:30, then get back to your resort at 10:00. I would think that would give you enough time.

Well, I made a reservation for Boma. I think I might cancel though because my seating is at 8am and the CM told me to allocate one hour to get there. That means we'd be up awful early on our last day and the rushing around doesn't seem worth it to me. Maybe we will try to get over to AKL at some other point in the trip. I'll have to take a look at the ol' schedule and do some reshuffling. Thank you all for your help. You have really convinced me to eat at Boma!
