Deluxe Resort Split Stay

Hello Everyone! This is my first time posting a thread. I hope I am doing right.:)
My question is this:

My family is thinking of doing a split stay next spring. We know we want to stay at AKL and then a Boardwalk Area Resort, most likely Beach or Yacht Club. When doing this split stay, which resort should we start with and which would be best to finish.

Backstory: Epcot is our favorite park, but we have yet to stay at a Boardwalk area resort. We love AKL and can't imagine not staying there. Our stay will be 12 days total, and we love doing resort activities almost as much as going to the parks.

Any advice or thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Another thought: We have twice split stay between Beach Club and AKL. We do Beach Club (our favorite) FIRST, and then intensively "do" MK, Epcot, and the Studios using BC - (and its walkability to Epcot) as our base. When we're done with the other 3 parks, we've moved to AKL and then immerse ourselves in Animal Kingdom without worrying about the relative remoteness of AKL. This works for us because we really love Animal Kingdom, which for us is a 3-day park (we do a number of the extra tours, including the Wild Africa Trek); we can't understand all the feeling that it's a "half-day park." Just another perspective.

Thanks so much! That's exactly what I was looking for. I love that plan. We are also planning on doing a tour of AK too and I agree that it is not a "half-day park" either. DD and I enjoy all of the activities at the hotel as well, and we plan on 2 days of just AKL days.

We do split stays...we stay somewhere we haven't yet and finish at Beach Club...just be mindful of your packages...your split stay is 2 separate reservations. It may be costly to do 2 packages that include tix and dining. A little tip that may help is: we book the first resort as our package doing tix for the length of our trip and dining. Then when we switch over to Beach Club we book a club level room, room only. We already have our tix and club level helps offset the cost our additional meals ( the snacks and breakfast offerings are not meal replacements). We do meal splitting at our favorite counter services and sometimes just grab a pizza from the Boardwalk Pizza Window.

Thanks so much for your great advice. I appreciate it. I think we have decided to start out at POR in Princess Room for our DD and finish at AKL club level. We have stayed at POR and like it, but not in the Princess Rooms.

Not sure I would do a split. Too much hassle for me. Packing once to go and once to go home is enough for me.

I would definately stay at the Beach Club. It has such easy access to Epcot and the pool is phenomenal! And the rooms are beautiful too. I love the lifeguard Mickey lamp!
