I think they turned that on yesterday to manage the loading when they released 'free dining' which commonly overloads their servers. This created a virtual queue to manage the demand.

They are having major system overload with the discount release. That's what happens when they release discounts later than normal for a time period known to have discounts (people who booked are all watching like hawks), when you release both a dining and room discount the same day (they should have split the two releases), and when your phone system directs people to your website to modify their reservation so they can get you off the phone, but your website isn't equipped to handle that volume. Yesterday was a complete disaster. Got on hold at 7:30 am, waited 2 hours to be told they were sold out at WL. Called back this morning on the off chance people were unsatisfied with the discount and canceled (thereby re-opening discounts), and still got nuttin after waiting nearly an hour on hold. Any sane person would say this isn't worth it, but I can't quit you WDW.

Notice that the WEBSITE is quick? So what's with the "timer"?

This is a pretty blatant "can't connect to the ancient central Database" reveal :). Insufficient capacity.
The problem was always there... you just got Goofy over & over :). So WDW has added a Web to DB hobble. And they are probably packing Ice around the Mainframes to cool them (joke).

Now - the positive suggestion? Disney, go to AWS (Amazon Web Services) - and let that legacy hardware rest in peace. It's a tossup as to who has the oldest junk - Disney, or the US Air Traffic Control System :).

I noticed it when I was booking a very short trip for September. After a lovely 2 min 30 sec I was ... redirected to the main page. :cautious:

Then I refreshed and booked what I wanted. As always, the Disney website is a very special snowflake :bored::hilarious:

They also announced room discounts for APs at the same time.

Cast rates for 2020 were released on Tuesday too. I am a retired cast member and I have to call to book my rooms, no longer have HUB access. Waited on the phone for hours!

It makes me wonder, when they release discounts.

How many people without reservations are booking when discounts are released, versus how many people are changing their existing reservations?
