What the... speechless. Just speechless.

Heart, talent, ambition, sincerity.
Four elements essential to creating a masterpiece. A masterpiece of a film that tells the story of creating the masterpiece of EPCOT Center. A place willed into creation through those same four elements.

Heart, talent, ambition... and sincerity.

I've been reflecting a lot lately on what we were then and where we are now. Watching this film, looking through time and across history from our current vantage point-- 23 years into the 21st century-- this film, its story and its message... it almost seems like a portal into an alternate universe.

A love letter to who we were, what we strived for, what once was and what we once believed possible. A story not just about the genius of EPCOT, but also about what we had, what we lost and what we've become.

Try to imagine a timeline where Disney still had the guts to stay true to EPCOT's premise and promise. Not an extension of Fantasyland, but a true living utopia, a place dedicated to lifting the human spirit by paving a path of possibility, cooperation and community.

After watching this film, I can only imagine where we'd be. But one thought remains:

We desperately need that EPCOT now more than ever before.

Not a business unit devoted to advertising the brand, but a place built and run on the power of heart, talent, ambition and sincerity.

Thank you Kevin and everyone who worked on this film. It should absolutely be required viewing for everyone at the Walt Disney company, starting right now and at the very top.

And if those who need to see this the most don't have the courage to dream of something bigger, something better, something more... then perhaps it's time to let the next generation of dreamers and doers have their say.

EPCOT had Gary Owens and Tim Matheson at one point (Space Ghost and Jace), now all they have is IP. At least they did show S.I.R. as part of an Imagineering exhibit a few years ago...
