Who is watching and what did you think of the pilot?

I am not sure what I think yet. I was not thrilled with the set up, in that there was almost none. I should not have to go to wikepedia to find out what happened between alien ships showing up and all the alien ships are destroyed. I am also hoping that this does not turn into a post apocalyptic cop show.

So-so was my initial response. It's queued up on my DVR, but so was The Following and the holes in that show got it dropped after 3 weeks.

I still miss Eureka. But Warehouse 13 has been entertaining....:-)

I am wondering if they are taking the lessons learned from Caprica too far. Caprica had the potential to be an incredible series, but they spent far too long setting things up. In the 19 episodes of Caprica almost nothing got solved. Everything was continuously building with no resolution and it was exhausting.

Now we have Defiance where 27 years of history is done in a single screen dissolve and we hit the ground running and confused. The back story is going to have to come soon.

I was really ed when Eureka got canceled for no other reason that SyFy could make more money running wrestling and ghost shows. Eureka was making money, just not enough so they put a bullet in one of the better shows on TV.

I love Warehouse 13, but I fear for its life almost every episode.

LOL... I watched about two minutes of it last night. My impression?

That and "Revolution" on NBC. I've been burned so many times on shows that I stopped getting into new ones (e.g. Kings, Surface, Terra Nova). I'll start watching after the first (or second) season cuz at least it'll be around a bit.

Never heard of Defiance, but I loved Eureka and have been watching the last episodes on DVD. Missed them, because I never could keep track of when it was on!

Eureka was a great show.

Is this Defiance as good?

They are completely different shows so it is hard to compare them. Also they have only aired the pilot. Judging by that alone I would say Eureka is far better, but time will tell if Defiance turns out to be good.

Yes they do. From the info on Wiki, the time before the show looks to be pretty interesting and IMHO rather essential to any story line.

other shows that i like other than Continuum and Warehouse 13 are Alphas, Perception, Major crimes, stargate universe, Terra Nova
