Defective Olszewski Castle?

I purchased an Olszewski Cinderella Castle from WDW and I love it. I have it hooked up to the electrical adapter it comes with and for some reason, the lights only stay on for about twenty minutes. Is this normal?

I wouldn't think that the lights staying on for twenty minutes then going off is normal.

According to the advertising:"This open edition, Z-scale replica of Cinderella's Castle, is the first in a series that will depict the charming buildings of Main Street, USA. Robert Olszewski’s Castle captures every detail, right down to working lights that illuminate in a variety of colors."

Does it "illuminate in a variety of colors?"
Also does it seem to get overly hot? If so I would definitetly see about an exchange!

I had written to WDW Guest Services and they advised me that this was normal. Last night, I tried the lights with the batteries and had the same result. They shut off about fifteen minutes after being turned on.

The lights do not get very hot from what I could tell. The electrical adapter gets warm, as all adapters do.

Oh, and yes the lights are wonderful when they are on. Mostly a display of blues and greens.

Peter ... have you tried the Art of Disney Store in the Magic Kingdom? That's where we got ours. We happened to be in the Art of Disney in Downtown Disney this morning and they did not have any for sale and even removed the one on display because they were getting too many people asking for it.

I have been checking all five of the stores. Unfortunatly none have had any for a while now. However I was finally able to get mine today at Epcot.

Congratulations, Peter. I hope you enjoy your castle as much as we do.

We were at DD a few weeks ago and bought the double decker bus model too. Can you tell me what other pieces the Art of Disney Epcot store had?

I believe the only pieces currently available at WDW are: Cinderella Castle, The double decker bus, the horse and carriage, and the four princess characters set.

I'm thinking about starting to collect these. Are they worth it?
And... Does anyone have the list of all the WDW items they have out so far?

I consider this art, so it is up to the individual to say if it is worth collecting or not. If you plan to collect the entire series, it's going to cost well over $3000.00, depending on how many pieces they make.

Currently, I have Cinderella's Castle, City Hall/Firehouse and Town Square. The official website is http://www.disneygallery.com and another great website is http://www.mainstreetminiatures.com

Those other Main Street pieces were modeled after DL. Does anyone know if/when more pieces will be released that are modeled after WDW to go with Cinderella's Castle (besides the bus, princesses, and horse)?

I love my Olszewski Cinderella Castle by the way. I like to play my Wishes cd and turn on the lights at the moment they come on at the MK. I’m such a dork.

The castle is just incredible with all the detail! I'm wanting to start a collection like this also. I noticed that there's an older set done by Dept. 56 - is anyone out there familiar with or own pieces to this set? I thought that might be a good one to start with that won't break the bank - well at least not right away
