How does Disney manage the deer population on their property? We were down for Thanksgiving week and saw over 100 deer when riding buses and monrails. I almost hit one on the way to the POP, they are all over the place.:xmas:

I don't imagine they have a formal plan. If they did they probably would not make it public.

I was just there over thanksgiving and on the flight down I sat next to a guy from florida that had been deer hunting here in Wisconsin and hadn't gotten anything. Then on the magical express to the resort I saw three deer as soon as we entered the WDW resort! I thought it was funny, the Florida guy should have stayed in Florida to go hunting!

You NEVER used to see deer at WDW unless you were staying at FW or down near the warehouses off of Reams Rd. WDW was so full of wooded habitats that they stayed hidden.

But in the past 10-15 years, WDW has destroyed so much of their 'land' so you now see them all the time (or should if you have a good eye). I had literally a perfect picture of about eight of them grazing on both sides of the WL arches in October, but my camera wasn't handy.

I always see them on walks/jogs/bike rides between the WL and FW and often see them out near the TTC grazing as well as under the EPCOT beam from World Drive.

It's cool to see them, but also sad because they wouldn't be there if Disney wasn't rapidly destroying every natural space on property.
