Deep Fried Oreos

Been looking at a food pics thread on another Disney Forum site (treachorous I know!) and have seen a scrummy looking plate of Deep Fried Oreos from Boma.

We weren't planning on eating here as we are both quite fussy eaters at times, but that dessert look to die for!

Does anyone know of anywhere else in the "World" that serves this tempting treat? :slurp:

Wow, I've never seen such a thing at Boma. It doesn't sound very African to me. I usually see them at county fairs and such. I'm also not sure how Mickey could make a transfat free deep fried oreo. I too would be interested to hear if anyone has seen these around WDW.

I've never seen them at Boma... or anywhere else in WDW.

It it's a deep fried oreo you're after, you might try just looking around the area in which you live. I know of quite a few places near me that make them - mostly ice cream parlors. (Granted, I live in the South.) They ARE oh so yummy! :slurp:

I'm in the UK,
we're lucky to find just plain Oreos over here!

Just heard on the other forum that they are a speciality of one of the chef's there - TJ I think he was called.

Seems like I might be out of luck - they did look delicious though!!!

I've seen them at Boma and my DD tried one. They were made by one of the chefs for another guest that we where talking to. They are not usually on the menu.

I haven't seen them in Disney, but found one in Hilton Head. It was so yummy. I was kind of surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

You can always try making one yourself:veryconfu But those things never seem to turn out when you attempt to make them at home. I always seem to send off the smoke detectors.:o

They do have deep fried oreos at Boma. I had a bowl of them on my recnt visist on 9/2. There are four deep fried oreos on a stick in a big red bowl. They then have chocolate sauces poured on top of them. Let me tell you they were to die for.:slurp: :slurp: :slurp: Everyone in the restaurant was looking at my like where did she get that. I can;t wait to go again.

You have to ask your server for them, they do not have them out at the buffet. I actually changed my ressie from another restaurant just to have the deep fried oreos. Was worth the late 8:40pm reservation. I actually ended up loving most of the food there. And would have to say out of the 9 TS meals I had Boma was my favorite.

Oh and If you like Oreo's you have to go to Goofy's Candy Company at DTD. I think that is the name. Oh my god what you can do with a extra large Oreo cookie. And you can use snack credits for it.

Oreo #1 Vanilla stuffed Oreo dipped in Milk Chocolate, coverd in crushed oreos, drizzled with white chocolate.:slurp: :slurp:

Oreo#2 Peanut Butter stuffed Oreo dipped in milk chocolate, coverd in whit and nilk chocolate chips, drizzled with white and milk chocolate.:slurp: :slurp:

I wish I used all my snack credits on the oreo's buthave to share some of them with DH:mad:

I haven't seen them at Boma and I have eaten there a few times. Deep fried oreos...I eat one of those usually and then feel like I can't do any thing for a while. They are delicious, but so heavy.

I've never seen them anywhere in wdw, but I always get them when I'm down at the Jersey Shore. There's also a restaurant near me that makes them.

You won;t "see" them anywhere at wdw. You have to ask for them at boma, but believe me they have them. My DH will confirm I ate all four of the deep fried oreos and loved every minute of it. I found out about them from this web-site, and knew I had to ask for them. Out server was great, she said no problem and when I was done with dinner she came over and asked if I was ready for my oreos. Oh yeah was I ready.

lol... how cool... I never knew of this either!

I love boma for b-fast... now I am going to HAVE to try them for dinner and request these oreos.

Also... those oreo creations at DTD sound good to!

Mmm More bad stuff for me to try at WDW. :slurp: :slurp:  :o

Do they seem happy to make these, or do you think it's something they would rather not do so much? I hate asking for special things (my phobia, I don't like to ask for stuff anywhere :zipit: ) but if it's considered a menu item and they are happy to do it anytime maybe I could muster up the courage to ask...

If they have other battered items, then they should have a tub of batter handy.

If so, it's easy to fry anyting. Oreos, mars bars, snickers, a Buick. Just dip it in the batter and wing it in the fry-o-lator.

They seemed fine with making them for me. I asked our server and she No problem. I said to her I hear you have deep fried oreos here and she said yes we do, I then asked If there was anyway I could get some and she said no problem. Ask and you will be glad you did.

The battered Oreos are definately a speciality of TJ's (though other's there make it too)

He also does an amazing thing with Tofu as a custom veggie option.

He's made them for me more than once and he was still with Boma this time last year (We asked after him but he was on temp assignment in Epcot helping with food and wine)

Boma is so awesome!

Its quickly becoming my favorite place to dine while at WDW.
The guys that work the omelet station in the AM are great.
Best omelettes, EVER!

Again... I am going to have to make a dinner ressie there to for my next trip.
Thanks for the tips and info again everyone.
