Burgers aren't Irish?

We Irish are not well known for our food. If its brown or white, we eat it. If it isn't, we don't. ;)

Your avatar picture looks fantastic! But I can't really see it. Did you post any full-size ones?

Well there's food in the restaurants and the food my aunts made. Having spent quite a few summers there my aunts were wonderful, comfort food cooks. They would throw ingredients in a baking bowl and somehow this absolutely delicious bread would be baked. My dad would smuggle home all kinds of bread and meat (sausages and rashers) before you could and we would have a feast as soon as he would get home from the airport. Man this thread is bringing back some memories. By the way my dad was from Broadford County Clare.

HOW DARE YOU?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah, I know, people love it. I just fall to see the appeal. It's not bad, but it's not as if it is any great masterpiece of culinary insight. What it amounts to is leftover meat and veg, with gravy, baked in a pan and topped with mashed potato.

Ri Ra's is pretty good. They are in Charlotte. I live in NC as well and that is the only place I've found.

Thats the one I was going to say. I went there to get lunch and watch football match last summer and it was great. There is one in Atlanta too that I went to for St. Patrick's 2 years ago. I think Ri Ra's might just be my favorite Irish restaurant.

Raglan Road is one of my new favorite Disney restaurants! So much, in fact, that we've decided to forego Magic Kingdom on our one and a half day trip in April in favor of DTD for dinner at Raglan Road! YUM! My problem is trying to find a decent Irish restaurant near my town! I live in a decent-sized coastal town in North Carolina and EVERY Irish restaurant here is a pub that serves burgers and sandwiches. There is no real Irish food to be found! I even looked in Raleigh near where my parents live and they have the exact same problem! Is this a localized phenomenon? Or is this happening everywhere?

Going to raglan for the first time what should I order?

Oh, yeah. The Irish Pub in AC is an experience and a half. LOVE the decor. And that outside seating area is awesome. I believe it is open 24 hours and wasn't it a back in the day true boarding house as well?

It is the only place I know of on Earth that has these mozzerella sticks with honey mustard...I was surprised.

Ri Ra is at Tropicana and I used to go a lot. The food when it first opened was much better. The totally dropkicked me though. When they first opened they had oysters several ways on the menu. Like rockefellar, minionette (which I think I just killed the spelling) cheddar, liquor, and cream with cheese, all types and they took them off. Don't ask me how they weren't selling or whatever. They may have oysters but not all the toppings. As an oyser-obsessee that was quite a blow when I went back there.
