I went to confirm again the park hours for my December visit and Disney has now pulled the hours and shows not yet announced. Epcot previously was to be open til 9:30 in December my dining plans are around this time. Has anyone heard whether this will change for December. (Disney is starting to loss one of its most devote fans!!) They should be changing hours at a time past those previously announced. Not inconveniencing everyone of their devote guests who were coming despite anthrax and terrorists!!:dazzle:

While it is of course difficult to deal with changes in the schedule, and we'd all like the parks to be open longer, they never promised the parks would be open the times they show months in advance. The schedule for December (and every other month) always says that the information is subject to change without notice. But yes, it is upsetting when you plan your day around it.

December Park Hours Pulled

Faithful,
You have probably planned and planned for this vacation for months - and now WDW has thrown a monkey wrench into those plans. Sorry to hear it, but Adjust.:D If you take this attude with you, you indeed will have a bad experience. I plan for months and months, but as soon as I get there so many of the plans go right out the window. The hurricanes that drop inches of rain, that have made touring a challenge. You need to adapt the plans - so what. I have often just hopped on the first bus that stops at the bus stop any given day and just threw out the plans for that day. We had a blast - no place to be at any special time. I know you paid for perks you are not getting, and you feel cheated, but at least you are going. Smile and try to be Happy :sohappy:

I guess the least they could do is post the new hours so people could redo their plans instead of wondering and getting upset like Faithful is obviously doing.

I do think that WDW should make every effort to keep an up to date park hour schedule, but it seems to me that they are using a flex schedule. If the parks are crowded they stay open longer, if not they close earlier. Some of the problems I see travelers having are with PS. If I had some special restaurants I wanted to go to I would make PS for early dinners, to insure parks would be open. If there is a restaurant I wanted to go to for breakfast, I would make that PS at an hour that I would only be eating breakfast and dinner that day. Breakfasts in the World can be so filling that you might be able to get away with just 2 meals a day. If you need to eat lunch, try just walking up to the restaurant. On my vacation I walked up to Garden Grill and got a table right away. We also requested a PS at Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic Pkg. for 4:00pm. There was only 2 other people in the restaurant when we were seated. We had had breakfast at about 9:00am and were ready to eat again at that time. We had both a no hassel meal and time to explore while others were eating - which made the lines even shorter.
These are just suggestions that I throw out there. I think that every vacation has its moments of failures, when plans do not come together. I have had my share. I went with members of my family that helped decide on every PS we/I made. After the 2nd day they would not go to any PS, they said they were too busy to stop touring.
Here is to all of my WDW friend - You will have a great time and may Tinkerbelle sprinkle you with lots of pixie dust:animwink:

I understand your complaint as I am in the same boat. However, in all of your recent posts you seem to be experiencing an extremely high level of anxiety about the changes. We too have had our trip turned upside down with the park hour changes and uncertainty about all of the shows and attractions. We are just going to make the best of it. There is still plent to do and if the parks are less crowede then you can do them faster. I know that you are alos concerned about MVMCP and said that your kids couldnt stay up that late. We went two years ago with a 5 and 3 year old. We did Anical kingdom that day and got back to the room early and took a nap. No one had trouble staying up late that night. Try to take the changes and roll with them. Don't elt it ruin your vacation.

 Just got off the phone with Disney about hours. They are planning on continuing to post hours on a week to week basis. Today they are still only posting the current week - three days in advance available - wow. This makes it easy to plan.

Animal Kingodm has laways closed early. Last winter they closed at 5:00pm! So the hours trim is similar to what the other parks are doing.

I type the same way I live, fast with a lot of mistakes. It has helped keep me young looking.

I just got back from a 5 day trip to WDW. I have to say I didn't feel any "cut" in the pixie dust. It was as magical and memorable as ever! You just need to plan your time more effectively. We sat through ALL the shows, hit every park several times and maybe didn't dine at alot of sit down/reservation needed places, but I had 3 young teens with me and we needed to go, go, GO! My only suggestion is to NOT do a 4 day hopper. You will need at least a 5 to see all and do all. I was pressured with the 4 day and will never do that again. Of coarse how many think after 2 weeks of WDW you still don't have enough?! I'm thinking my next trrip over already, and after attending the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party, I am looking at dates around Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party! So go and relax. All is not over because of a "minor" cut in hours. There are alot bigger issues in our world then the cut hours at Disney. Give Disney a break, and lets ride out this war thing and see where we are in a while when things will eventually settle down. Put on your Mickey ears and sit by the Maion St. Bakery, relax and watch the crowds enjoy the magic!:sohappy:

Hey mickeyfan,

We leave for WDW on Friday, December 28, 2001 and stay on til Wednesday, January 16, 2001. We always go this time of year - New Years, etc. Last year, it was really cold but we had a blast anyway. I also have been there too many times to count. For me and my family going to Disney World feels like coming home. :)

My parents are going in two weeks or so and I am so jealous! :p
