Hello everyone. We are leaving on 12/9 to go the most wonderful place on earth. Is there anything that we MUST see, anything worth seeing, etc. You get my drift! We are going to the MVMCP on 12/11. We have never been during the holiday season before. Help me out everyone. Thanks.:xmas:

This is my list for Dec.

I will be going down from 12/2-12/12... Here's a list of what I'm looking for...

At the resorts - check out all the Christmas decorations - especially the Lifesized Gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. Also high on the list is the AKL and WL

At the parks....

MK - Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (hard ticket event) and Holiday Wishes (they say even if you don't go to the party, go to one of the resorts like the Polynesian to watch Wishes. I'm also checking to see if there is a tree lighting ceremony or anything there. And I'm going to try and see on the non MVMCP nights - because I don't know if they do it on the party nights, to watch the Kiss Goodnight at the castle (the unoffical closing ceremony which involves lights and music and announcement) I'm also going to for the first time in my life... try a dole whip.

AK - Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade and I think the characters at Camp Minnie Mickey dress in Xmas attire.

MGM - Osborne Lights and Fantasmic on EMH nights

Epcot - Candlelight Processional (we have the dinner package at Chefs de France that comes with seats reserved for the processional. We are doing dinner after so we don't have to rush). There is a Treelighting cermony at the tree by World Showcase. Lights of Winter (the lighted arches between FW & WS). The fountain in the middle should be playing Xmas music. And in each Country there will be story tellers doing their version of the holidays.

Over at DTD they are having the Festival of the Seasons - It's all decorated and Santa is there by World of Disney...

You can take the Yuletide Tour ($69) you can collect all the Christmas holiday pins you can find... or be like me and just spend all your time chasing down Dopey so you can get a picture with him and your mom... well, my mom...

Have I missed anything else?

Other than that... I just hope to take it all in... :xmas:

Osborne Lights at MGM
Holidays around the world at Epcot
Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom
The resorts! They all are decorated to the hilt. The Gingerbread House at GF, the chocolate carousel at Beach Club, the Wilderness Lodge.
Candlelight Processional at Epcot

Also, I absolutely love the tree's at Camp Mickey & Minnie at Animal Kingdom...each tree is totally devoted to a character. They are really awesome!

Definitely have to do MVMCP, the snow on main street is amazing!

We will be there Dec 10-18 ourselves...

You need to experience as much of the holiday celebrations as you have time for.

I suggest that you try to do -

MVMCP
Holiday Illuminations
Candlelight Processional
Osborn Lights
Holiday Storytellers in Epcot
Hollywood Holidays Parade at the Studios

I'd also try to see the Country Bear Jamboree Holiday show. While it is not as spectacular as the Osborne Lights, MVMCP, or the Illuminations - Let There Be Peace on Earth Tag, it is still neat nonetheless.

Thank you....I forgot about that one.

In addition to everything already said, one of my favorites is the Holiday Show at the stage in between Buzz Lightyear's exit and Caroussel of Progress in Tomorrowland at MK. I think it's called "Twas the Night before Christmas"...it's a cute show with the characters and singers and dancers...and you get to sit down. Look on the Times Guide---it's offered 3-4-5 times a day or so.

I think the Candlelight Processional is a MUST. But especially since you are going when it isn't busy, I would NOT recommend the package deal ---just go wait in line....you don't need to sit in the front row to enjoy the amazing Christmas Program!!!

Enjoy!

Okay, I know I'll probably get slapped by the veterans for this suggestion because it's not Disney related, but if you get the chance go to Sea World and see their Shamu Christmas program. It is the last Shamu show of the evening and it is really nice. Last year it was a candlelight program with a choir signing Christmas carols and a guitartist. It was very moving.
