Generally the first 2 weeks of December will be your best bet. Try to avoid the Pop Warner championships (especially if you are staying at a value resort) which are 12/7-12/13 this year. Pop Warner will not effect the parks much but they can make a stay at All Star Sports a little unbearable.

We have been going the week after THanksgiving and it's been pretty good. Though last year the day we were at Epcot seemed busier than it has in the past. We'll be back this December the 2nd thru the 9th.

From what I have heard I agree about Pop Warner stay away from the Value and I believe Port Orleans is the mid price hotel for pop warner.

I have been at PORS several times during Pop Warner and have never had an issue. Quite honestly I never even knew that they were there. I guess there are fewer of them and they are a little more spread out.

I usually go the 2 weeks after Thanksgiving and both weeks the crowds are way down. I did notice last year though that the week immediately following Thanksgiving is less crowded that the week after that.

For example:

Week after Thanksgiving the line for Rockin RollerCoaster was 20 minutes at peak, 2 weeks after Thanksgiving the RRC was about 30 minutes at peak. (Peak for me is about noon to 2pm)

Out of all the rides the only one I noticed never changed and that was Peter Pan's Flight and it was always 45 minutes...go figure:shrug:

I am hoping to come up with a crowd guide of some sort for the site this year as I have lots of time to take data....I wish I could get paid for this type of research!

Actuallly the crowds levels do not build up in a linear manner starting Dec. 1st and going through the end of the month.
There are ups and downs.

The week between Christmas Day and New Year's Day is, of course, the most crowded with crowd levels being extreme. Avoid it if possible.

The part of December up till about the 20th usually has relatively low crowds. Pop Warner week is 12/7 - 12/13 for 2008 but they don't always impact the park crowds during the day. They do impact restaurant availability for dinner.

Some of the forecasters this year are showing that the lowest crowd levels are actually about Dec. 14 - Dec. 20, right after Pop Warner Week.
The reason may be that it's too close to Christmas for many people who either want to stay home then due to Christmas activities and school or who want to wait till after Christmas Day to go.

So- for 2008, Dec. 14 -20 is looking like the best week in December for lowest crowds.

IMHO

I agree. I've mentioned this on the other December threads, but it seems 12/14 to 12/20 is wide open. We are waaayyy past the 180 days date and I was able to get every ADR I wanted including CRT. That's crazy!
