December as "Meet" month

December seems to have the majority of the votes on having an "Official Meet". What does everyone think about the first week of December? Please keep in mind that many people will be there with their families and will not have time to devote to seeing everyone every day. So here is my suggestion; we can arrange to go to the MVMCP together or the HDD or we can do Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I can call and make arrangements, (meals together) that is no problem. I would like everyones input on what to do. If we can arrange a few get togethers, then we can meet our forum friends and have our family vacation at the same time. If anyone has any suggestions on where to meet besides at a restaurant, let's hear it. And let's start a list on who will be going and how many will be in your group. We can get into where everyone is staying and the dates later on, but if you want to post it now, go for it! If you cannot go in Dec., I will be there in May and June if anyone would like to meet me.

Pam , for me and hubby early December is great ! Would love to meet at the MVMCP or at Chef Mickey's for breakfast, or anywhere else, not crazy about the HDD though ! It will only be 2 for our group , maybe three at the most. Will probably be staying at the AKL or the WL. We also will be there in May but the very last week, i think you mentioned you're being there earlier right Pam ? Thanks for organizing this and i am looking forward to meeting you all ! :sohappy:

You can count me and my husband in at least for now. We'll probably drive over for the meet -n- greet and be day trippers, but not make it into a vacation. (We live only about an hour away.) :sohappy:

I will be there from the 1st until the 5th of May. I just paid for my airline tickets today. It will be my Mom's 70th Birthday. This is Great, I will have to do a spread sheet. I think MVMCP would probably be the best thing for everyone. I have to do the HDD, (my hubby needs his chicken and beer!)

That's great! I wish I lived only an hour away. But then again, my husband would probably be very lonely!:lol:

Is there going to be one hotel in particular or can we pick where we want to stay? Could you get us a better rate booking it for a group? I guess I have a lot of questions, when I should be trying to think about how I am going to pay for this trip...:lol:

I could only get a group rate if we booked around 20 rooms in the same hotel. ( I haven't done that large of a group yet, but I will have to check into it) Everyone can stay where ever they want. I will probably be staying at the same hotel as you if you go.

Is the idea to do this annually, I hope so. I think if it becomes regular practice, more and more people can plan and work it in or around their future plans... for instance, if you meet Dec. 2004 I willl be there, as I'm sure many others would be who don't come this year, as well as repeaters.

I may sound dumb for asking this...what's HDD? (just because chicken and beer sounds yummy )

As I said before, December is bad for me because Julia tends to work till the 20th. But it's still better than other middle-of-the-year months. You never know, right? Maybe she'll get a good job in the future and have December off... :wave:

I'm up for the MVMCP!

I will be there the first week of Dec. We alsways go to the Hoop de Doo on our first night. (sort of a family tradition) My husband loves the all you can eat fried chicken and beer.
I think that the MVMCP would be a great place for everyone to meet. We will have to get t-shirts made up for the event from Main Street USA. They will have to have a contest designing them.
