December 2013 Free Dining?

Looking into booking a trip for December 2013 with my family. We usually go in December and there has always been free dining. I have noticed that not to many promos for Free Dining have been offered for this year so just wondering if they will release promotions for Free Dining in December? It will probably save us about $1000 which is huge, so I am really hoping they do offer. Any thoughts? (I know historically they get released around July) :)

I received a pin code via mail which got us free dining for December. When I booked immediately after I got it there were not very many options left.
My travel agent said they may not open it to the general public this year.
That of course is just speculation.
Hopefully you are able to get it!

My MiL got a pincode for this time frame. Would she be able to book the trip for us using her pin code and CC and we can go, or does she have to be there as well. Also how do they do these pincode mailings? I book so many trips with Disney directly and never seem to get any sort of mailings?

What I would like to know is how and when do the Disney Visa cardholders find out when the free dining is happening in advance and will they post it on here like they did before?

No unfortunately whoever gets the pin code has to be going on the trip and has to be the one checking in. If Disney allowed others to book for you this woul defeat the whole random pin code offers. Also to answer you other question there is no system it is pretty random who will get the pin codes. We have only gotten one in over 6 years and we couldn't even use it when we got one. Bit was for 35-40%off of the deluxe room/villas but we were not going that year. We usually skip one year to go somewheres else. Make sure you are registered in every Disney affiliated site possible as some think this will increase your chances but for us that has not been the case. Lol. Also we are now DVC members and tht would be too funny if we start getting them now. Lol. Hope you get one or a public discount comes out! :)

I believe it has to be sent to you in order to use, or she would have to book with you. I was worried because ours came addressed to my husband who is not going this December with my mother and I. But I believe since it was my home address I was able to use it. I think it is so funny because he doesn't even like Disney, I always book the trips in my name and because one time I think his name was first now he gets every offer!!!!

I like to go to Disney web site and play around and see what's available and how much it will cost. When I was on there the other day I noticed that for the 1st week of December there is almost nothing left in standard view at all and even most of the garden and preferred rooms are taken too. Wouldn't this mean that they don't need to have free dining if the rooms are all booked up?

Hope this isn't the case. :(
