December 2005 with a pet, please help!

I am planning to take my family to Disney World in December 2005 and I want to take my dog with me. I have 2 questions,

1. Any recommendations for an off-site hotel that allows pets? I found that they have a couple of Holiday Inns that allow pets.

2. Any tip or feedback about the kennels at Disney? How big are the cages?

Leave the dog at home. Do you really want it to be in a little cage all day? I know I wouldn't do that to my dog.

I live here now, so I have not used Disney kennels recently. I would *highly* recommend Bass Pet Motel. They are great with the animals and one of the only places I would feel good leaving my boys~ see link below.

The kennels are pretty standard and if your dog is over 30 lbs they go to outside cages.You still have to come walk your dog unless your at the Epcot one and they will charge per walk. Disney really doesnt cater to our pets which is why none are allowed to stay on property resorts.However if you dont mind paying 200-300 a night the Hotels of Universal Orlando definetly cater to pets.They even have some restraunts you can eat at with your dog,outside ofcourse.

Though I'm not one to push Universal anything... the Lowe's hotels (Universal's onsite hotels) all allow pets and treat them like royalty at that... just a thought.
