December 12th through 18th???

Hi I've been a lurker here for a while and most of the questions I've had, I've never had to make a new thread for them b/c they were already answered on here but I am stuck right now and I need help. Me and my husband are taking our 2 boys (1 is 3 years and one is 3 months old right now) to Disney in December. We received a pin code for 40% off the Deluxes and that's where we are really wanting to stay since our MIL may come with to help watch the boys so we need the room size. The thing is I called today and was told that pretty much nothing was available for the dates of 11/28-12/4 except for OKW and SS, oh yeah she did mention that a garden suite was available at BW for the low price of just under $4,000 for the week(!!!!)which I told her I would never be able to afford. This is when she told me that nothing was available in the deluxes and I had to specifically ask about the Villas to even get that info from her...I felt like she kept trying to upsell to me to the garden suite b/c that's all that she would talk about. Anyway, she did tell me that for the dates of 12/12-12/18 there are rooms available at the BW,BC and CR (which is the three resorts where we really want to stay)
So my questions are:
1) what is the crowd level from 12/12 to12/18? I heard that the levels were low for the week after Thanksgiving that's why we orginally wanted to go then and with an infant and a toddler I didn't want to go when there is high crowd levels.
2)why is it showing up on disneyworld.com that there are rooms available for the original dates in Nov./early December but the woman with Disney said that there's nothing available???
3)Finally I would just like to know what everyone else would do. I really wanted to stay at either BW,BC or CR for the convienance factor, the size of the rooms and plus I like the look of the resorts. Not really crazy about OKW or SS and not crazy about MIL sleeping on a pull out there either. However I don't know what the crowd levels are the week of 12/12 through 12/18 so I don't know if I should wait and go then just to have the resorts I wanted. I def don't want to go then if the crowd levels are going to be crazy.
Thanks for reading and I'm sorry this post is so long, I tend to ramble sometimes.

According to the crowd calendar at touringplans.com, the crowd levels are:

Sun, 12 Dec '10 1
Mon, 13 Dec '10 3
Tue, 14 Dec '10 1
Wed, 15 Dec '10 4
Thu, 16 Dec '10 1
Fri, 17 Dec '10 3
Sat, 18 Dec '10 6

Those are great crowd levels, so you should be fine there.
I love the EPCOT resorts myself, so I would talk to a travel agent and see if they can advise you on your pin code and available rooms.
Have fun!

Are you searching just general availability or with your specific PIN code? For any discount offer, whether it is a PIN or general offer, there are only a certain number of rooms at each resort for each date/set of dates available at a discount. So there may be rooms available for your dates - at regular price.

Either way, like the poster above, I suggest contacting a travel agent that specializes in Disney travel and have them look into everything for you. Kingdom Konsultants is a sponsor here on the boards, and while I haven't used them myself, everyone I've ever spoke with about them holds them in very high regards.

The problem through going directly through Disney's reservation agents is they generally only respond to direct questions and will try to upsell... they usually don't offer up any discounts, alternatives, etc. An independent travel agent, like KK, will do that for you so you can get what you really are looking for.

The parks will start getting more crowded as you get closer to the 18th. Xmas will still be a full week away so you should be okay for most of the trip, but prepare to notice the difference by Friday night. If you want to eat at Cape May, particularly for breakfast that last weekend, make sure to book it early.:xmas:

The cast member is showing no availability b/c the pin is only good for a limited # of rooms for those dates and they are most likely all taken for the dates you are traveling. The closer you get to the christmas holiday the more crowded it will get. I don't think it will be too bad crowd wise in the beginning of your trip.

The week after Thanksgiving is much busier the past few years than it was in the past. As Mukta said the crowd levels will be light for the 3rd week of December, but expect the weekends to be very crowded with locals trying to enjoy the holiday festivities at WDW. Weekdays should be slow and quiet.

thanks everyone so much for all the advice and for the quick replies. We decided to go ahead and book the Boardwalk for the 12th through 18th. My husband didn't really like the idea of the MIL sleeping on a pullout bed either and based on everyones responses we figured we should just wait and go the later week. Plus we have more choices with dinner and lunch ADR's. From what everyone is saying we should be okay with the crowd level, we are going to actually be going to Universal on that Friday (I know shame on us!;)) and Saturday we are going to be heading home so hopefully we will miss all the crowds starting to come. Thanks again for all the responses, I knew I could get the help and info I need from this group and that's why I love wdwmagic so much and I check it everyday:)

Good to know about the crowd level, as I will also be there from Dec. 12-21.

I've had similar issues with the reservation system. During my trip in May, I spoke with the reservation line AND the front desk about staying an extra night at one of the value resorts. After getting the runaround from both, I was told that the whole property was booked and only a deluxe room at AKL was available... and this was after I asked for both AP discount and rack rate options. I went to disneyworld.com on my phone and saw way more options than what those helpful :fork: CMs had to offer me. I had even pointed out this availability to the front desk, where I was told by the manager that disneyworld.com shows just resort options, not true availability. It was total BS. I proceeded to book my room online... it was painless, and done in a matter of two minutes. Checked in at Pop Century the next day with no problems!
