Dec. weekend trip

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to the boards and have just been given the ok to plan a weekend trip in December :D to hold us over for our full week next year. My original dates were for the 6-9th. I totally forgot about the Christmas parade taping. Traveling with a 9 year old Magic Kingdom is going to take up all of our Saturday and the majority of our Sunday. My question is how crowded the next weekend will be, or will MK be manageable with the parade taping? I know colleges and schools will be starting to get out for Christmas the end of the next week. We normally go that first week starting with my planned weekend but totally avoid MK until Tuesday. Any advice would be great!
Thanks

It is also Pop Warner at that time. The following week end should be fine for crowd levels. I go every year at that time. The filming of the parade usually only effects the main street and hub areas in MK. The rest of the park is dead. Either weekend is OK as long as crowded Main street is ok with you.

Pop Warner usually has very little effect on the parks itself. We always go at this time and the crowds are still lower at the parks even while Pop Warner is going on. It mostly affects the value resorts etc but you don't see an extra influx in the parks really at all. We will be there 12/5-12/15 also. :)

We went the following weekend this past year, and it was fine. The only day that was super crowded at the MK was the day when there was NOT a MVMCP taking place at night because everyone wanted to see the park that day and not get kicked out before the evening parade and fireworks. However, we arrived at rope drop, used FPs, and got a ton done by mid-day when the crowds had gotten heavy, and then took a lunch break and just took it at a leisurely pace for the rest of the day. The other parks were fine.
