Dec. football/cheer competitions

What are the parks like while these are going on? I don't know anything about either of the competitions but I assume that they have activities and their competitions during the daytime, right? So that means the parks would be pretty normal during the day but swarmed with kids come evening?

I also assume most of the kids and their parents stay at the various All-Star resorts right?

We have never seen any of the Christmas decorations and would love to go for a weekend in December to check them out. I'm trying to figure out when the best time to go would be that's not Thanksgiving and not right before Christmas. That doesn't leave a whole lot of options :lol:

Unless we just sucked it up and went for Thanksgiving, I guess that's an option. Anyone ever been? Is it as crazy as it looks?

We went the second week of December last year, and had no problems at all being there the same time as Pop Warner. As you mentioned, the kids are busy with their activities during most of the day. There were some large groups out and about during fireworks and late in the evening, but it certainly was not enough to change the travel dates over.

This year the teams' package options included the All Star Resorts, as well as Caribbean Beach Resort, so that is where I would expect them to be staying.

As long as you don't stay at their resorts you should be fine. I went during Pop Warner in 2009 and didn't even see them. They'll be there for part if my December trip this year as well.

Ditto for us too! Never saw any Pop Warner groups. Have a wonderful time. See you at the Magic Kingdom Dec. 1, 2011. :xmas: :sohappy:
