We are heading to WDW for Dec 4th - 14th and are staying the 8th - 14th at AKL Kidani renting our friend's DVC. We had planned on staying the 4th to 8th in at one of the EPCOT resorts but had been holding off booking it as we were hoping to get in on an AP Rate and those only go through Sept 27th right now. For whatever reason I decided to check availability over the weekend and I'm glad I did! Going to Disney's website we were unable to find ANY rooms at ANY of the EPCOT resorts. In fact none of the Deluxe resorts had any availability. We did get lucky however and managed to get a room at the Dolphin via Expedia. We have never had a problem with this time slot in the past so is there something going on that weekend that we don't know about?

Just book those dates now at the rate showing, and when the AP rates or General Public room only discounts come out, just call and have the price adjustment made. Its too late now, but if you know you are going on a specific date like you are, its best to just book the resort you want then get the adjustment later.

I had the same thing happen, i was going to stay on the 5-7th and no rooms. I have never had an issue that time of year. usually they pay you to come its so empty. Going from the 7-9th no problem though.

Well I just check the AP rates yesterday, in the vain hope they had put some inventory aside for AP holders and nada! In fact the only Deluxe Resort options were Saratoga Springs, Contemporary Villas and Grand Floridian Villas. The only moderate and lower resorts available were Coronado Springs and All Star Music. For jollies, I checked the 8-11th and there was no problem getting in anywhere I wonder what the deal is about that weekend?

Could be Pop Warner is at that time and fills most of the value and moderate resorts so regular people upgrade and stay at Deluxe resorts to avoid the crowds. I know we do.

Disney only offers a limited number of rooms at the discounted rate. Sometimes, as the date approaches, they will release more discounted rooms if the occupancy is not where they want it to be.

Usually when the Yacht & Beach Club fills up, it's because of Food & Wine Festival or a convention at the Yacht Club.

Please note that non-discounted rooms are available for the nights you want (Dec 4-8) at the Boardwalk Inn and the Boardwalk Villas. Also at the Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian.

Rooms also are available at the Yacht Club and Beach Club Dec 5-8, suggesting there might be a convention there the week of Dec 1-5, with people checking out on the 5th.

At the Animal Kingdom Lodge, discounted rooms are available for as low as $270/night for the nights you want.
