I’m not sure on all the details, but early reports say someone jumped and got hit by an oncoming monorail. Lots of police and parts of the hotel closed. Absolutely awful.

They did not get struck by a monorail, but the monorails were closed as soon as the incident happened.

I never really looked. If I remember correctly, the monorail platform in the Contemporary; the opening exposing the beam was just wide enough for the monorail to pass through, I never actually looked down, or I do not remember looking down into the opening,

Such a horrible thing to occur in the midst of families having an enjoyable time. So sad that an individual finds themselves at such a low point in their life that they see this as the only answer to their problems. Now the ones they left behind will live forever asking why they didnt see this coming and might have been able to stop it. The pain will be felt forever.
Since the Contemp has this happen at times, could Dis have some notice/ card placed in the Contemp rooms with help lines and resource numbers listed that maybe one thinking about doing this action might reach out to talk and alter their plans?

I assume the investigation will take longer than a few hours to confirm it. Even if nobody else was in the area of the person they will need to determine if the person was under the influence of anything that could have led to it being unintentional. That said, suicide is the most likely explanation.
