Dealing with Columbus Weekend crowds

Weekend

Are Florida schools out next Monday for Culumbus day. We were planning to go to Blizzard Beach that day, but might rethink it if the Orlando area schools are out that day.

We are going October 11-18. I heard that things may be crowded. What things should we avoid (on what days)?

Stay away from MK. We usally did the first part of October the last few years. We've made the mistake (twice actually) going to MK on the Saturday of the Columbus Day weekend. It was unbearably crowded. I've read that that is one of the top 5 buisest days/weekend to visit the world.

And I agree 100%. Most rides were over an hour, fastpass was emptyied by mid morning. I think the only rides we did that day were PotC, Tiki, and AE. They were the only places with waits less than 30 min. And if I remember Tiki and AE were walk-ons.

And I vowed that day to hunt down and kill all stroller pushers, exspecially double widers. :zipit: :fork:

Which park would you recommend for Saturday. My kids are 4 and 2 and really want to go the MK. Maybe we could somewhere else during the afternoon and go to MK for the parade and Wishes in the evening. Any ideas?

If memory serves me, I think the park was closed due to crowds by like noon or even before. I'm sure they let more people in later in the day, but it was so crowded, you couldn't even move in places.
