DCA TOT = WDS TOT

I'm really interested in DCA's ToT, as we in Paris will get the same... within, let's say, 1 or 2 decades

My thoughts:

° the 5th dimension romm in itself has nothing spectacular...but I admit that the horizontal move on this vertical ride is quite unique. But I must say that the "disappearing guests" in the first room is far more spectacular in my opinion (although I do loooove the "stars turning into a door" effect)

° I hope the new effect will be cool... It sounds REALLY good so far...

° What will the ride be like? ToT4? ToT3??? Anybody knows???

It's rumored to start with drop profile no. 2

I like the rumors for the new effects but I still think the 5th dimension is needed!!

I loved it! There is no other freefall elevator that moves horizontally. I know it's not a "wow" kind of effect but it's still pretty good!

Here's a thought...

...maybe the 5th dimension sequence at DCA will have the "illusion" of floating forward? Kind of how it feels like you "back up" in the Indiana Jones ride, right before the big boulder starts rolling toward you? Maybe they'll have effect like stars moving past you and stuff so you get the feeling that you are actually moving forward?

...just a thought...:)

When I first went to WDW in 1996 I believe they were on profile 2. After the 5th dimension room and entering the drop cage the car drops a floor or two and then goes up to the open doors. You drop to the bottom and bounce all the way up to the top and drop again. That was it.
I personally like the idea of moving forward through the 5th dimension room. Though they aren't the best effects around It is still cool. I think if they could redo this room it would be great.
Perhaps the DCA version will have some small lifters that make the car feel like it is floating. Coupled with a dark room where a star field forms all around you they may be able to fool your brain a bit into thinking you are floating through space.

THANKS for the info and by the way there won't be a 5th dimension room at DCA..... Sad but true....

Yes. I knew about that. It is sad. Hopefully what they are doing for the DCA vesion is fairly spectacular though from all the descriptions I have read I am not that impressed. My idea was that the floating in the starfield would take the place of the 5th dimension room and it would occur inside the drop shaft...just before dropping! :)

yeah, sewe, thats what I was thinking. It could be pretty cool, they could have the elevator rock back and forth like it is floating around and stuff.

Here is a cool idea that could be done, but doubt it would happen.

The idea is that right after looking at the ghost guests the starfield effect appears, but the elevator seat tilt 90 degrees so that are facing straight up and by using a projector located above make it look like you are going through the 5th dimension. At this point they could drop you lying down but they could rotate you right before the drop.

I think it's good that DCA's ToT isn't going to be exactly the same as wdw's, but I hope that by changing it, they don't ruin it.
