DCA Visitors Now Staying An Extra 90 Minutes

The Orange County Register had an interesting article today with an interview with Disneyland Resort President George Kalogridis.

George goes on record saying that the nighttime entertainment they added to DCA last year, World of Color and Glow Fest (now elecTRONica), has extended the average visit to DCA by 90 minutes. Attendance at DCA already shot up in '10 by 20%, but now we learn that the bigger crowds are staying longer inside the park. George seems thrilled with this, understandably, and equates it to opening three major rides in terms of increasing park capacity. Interesting!

The other, and I suspect more important to Disney, reason why they are so thrilled with people staying later and longer is the longer you stay in the parks, the more money you spend in them.

Of course, it helps that the park is open later as well. I mean, it's hard to stay until 10 when the park closes at 9, as it did even during the summer a couple years ago.
