I have created a new website and today is it’s GRAND OPENING. As celebration… I would like to introduce my first video. I present DCA’s Tower Terror Ride Thru .

WARNING DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO if you want to be surprised. It includes a total attraction walkthrough. You will feel like you actually are there.

If you cannot wait then visit…

Enjoy!

p.s I know this doesn't belong in this forum, but I figure WDW peeps would want to see what the DLR version is like.

OMG!!! The mirror scene is THE best! But I still prefer my tower! :lookaroun
It still lacks the 5th dimension feeling but other than that, this is one great ride! :)

That mirror effect looks awesome and has me just a little jealous :lookaroun. Overall, the new tower seems to have gotten a better, cohesive story. I am very much a fan of the new narration throughout...it gives it almost a more eerie feeling to it. Although I loved the 5D room in WDW's tower and was skeptical when I heard they replaced it for the DCA version, I think they might have made a good choice. It fits in better with the storyline and is interactive.

So in short, I want that mirror effect for WDW's! I'm not ready to give up the moving 5D room though ;) Its better to keep them different anyway, imo.

Its a shame though that they didn't have the room to set up the huge outdoor queue they have in WDW's. That helps to set the mood a little better. It looks like you have to wait to get inside the building before that feeling can start. But from what others have said and from that video, the new two story boiler room makes up for it.

AWESOME! This is really gonna be a crowd magnet. The mirror scene was cool. Some different elevator shafts have the hall way effect with the ghosts first before the mirror effect. Looks great.

After watching the video, I would have to say WDW's is superior mainly due to the outside of the attraction.

At disneyland's, the building entrance is really close to the ride entrance and with the outdoor line veering off to the side in a large area of switchbacks. It may be good for size and capacity but I like at Disneyworld how you have to travel through the old gardens (which also serves as the outdoor line) before finally reaching the tower. Because of WDW's buildup to the tower (which really starts as soon as you enter Sunset Bulvard) there seems to be a much stronger approach than Disneylands. Also, in the switchback area, you can clearly see everything around the attraction, now I hope this gets cleared up by growing trees but if not, then something needs to be done to keep that eery theme.

The insides though seem pretty much the same even though Disneyland's Boilerroom is 2 stories.

Now about the ride, the mirror room has a really cool lightning effect and I can see it being added at WDW between the 5th Dimension and Hallway if there is room but the mirror room is nowhere as cool as the 5th Dimension room.

I however feel that Disneyland's version seems shorter than Disneyworlds. But I can see why with the compactness of the attraction.

I had a few complaints with the DCA version.

1) I really like the changing elevator shafts in WDW. Not having that will really detract.

2) The photo cameras are so painfully in view. Why not make them even bigger and paint them day-glow orange?

3) The voice actor who did the Rod Serling impression is REALLY BAD. They should have reused the WDW audio as best as possible.

I'm really eager to see this video, but everytime I go over it says the bandwidth is exceeded. How long did it take you guys to get on? Guess I'll have to view it at 3:00 a.m. when everyone is asleep.

Look in the forums at disneyforever.com. A thread on DCA's ToT, which is about 174 pages long, has a link to the video. It was on the 2nd to last page when I visited.

Thanks Disney2002. Finally found a working link.

Well, in comparison, it's okay, but I don't think it's better than MGM's. That que area is almost nonexistant. You just know that lines are going to spill over beyond the Tower. And I like the neglected garden setting at MGM's better. You definitely feel like you're entering a story there.
