We have stayed at the Days Suites Main Gate East twice. It is not a great place, but you can't beat it for convenience. It is about 2.5 miles from Disney world. If you miss your shuttle, you can take the lynx public transit to or from the magic kingdom for $1.25. It is right beside Old Town, a tourist shopping dining area with wonderful free entertainment, especially on Saturday when they have the Saturday Night Cruise, with 400-500 old classics cruising down the streets of Old Town. There are bands, line dancing, Old rock and roll played in the streets, midwayrides such as the scrambler, ferris wheel, merry-go-round, go carts, and so many other things to do and see. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance such as Ponderosa, Red Lobster, Pizza Hut, Western Sizzling, Mc Donalds, Burger King, KFC,Dennys, and many others. Also, you can walk to a Publix grocery store, and Walgreens.
The hotel has average decor. The pool is o.k. with no theming. We found the staff very helpful and courteous. The rooms have a living room with a t.v. couch chairs dresser and a murphy bed that pulls down from the wall. From the living room you enter the kitchen. It has a stove, fridge, microwave, table, 4 chairs, and cupboards with no dishes or pots and pans. You have to rent those. We just used paper plates. I think the most exotic meal I made there was chili. We ate out a lot, but it's nice to have breakfast in the room. I brought a fry pan and sauce pan from home.
The bathroom is just off the kitchen- a regular bathroom, small, with a toilet, sink counter and tub-shower.
You must go through the kitchen to get to the bedroom. It has 2queen or double beds- I forget which. There is a t.v., closets. chests. and a vanity area with another sink which came in handy for makeup, brushing teeth etc. if the bathroom was in use.
Although is was not Disney, the experience was enjoyable, and I would stay there again. We had 5 in our party. The suite accomadated 6.
