With little kids we are always looking for things to do on our "off day". We usually try to hit a character meal and go to downtown disney and swim. What else does everybody do for a "relax" day. We also hit the boats on bay lake and hotel hop. We're too young for Putt Putt... any other fun ideas?

what i do is walk around the hotel with my camera and take pictures, then on other days i go swimming to blizzard beach (its my fave water park) or as you said go to other hotels i could also spend a full day at downtown disney then at night go to a park for a night time show.
or what you could do if you are staying at a disney resort hotel go to a park that has an extra magic hour at night.

it's always a blast to go to espn club -- we went every may for several years the first week before the kiddos got out and would watch hours of NHL playoffs --

Besides visit hotels, pin trade, go to downtown Disney, mini-golf, or maybe even Disney Quest, we got to Boardwalk for a few hours. There is so much to see there and some of it can be past right up. There is that little food stand, right on the water, that has the best onion rings, the Espn restaurant (atleast I think that is the name) has really good food. I am not a sports fan at all but I still love to go there for the food. Inside of the hotel there are 1 cent machines that play short movies. You have to crank the wheel but it is amazing to see them. I think that you can see Illuminations there too, I havent been there at that time of day so I dont know. There is shopping and endless things to do there.

i got the boat from mgm to the boardwalk during the day and they have tandem bikes and stuff like that and i have been there at night and yes you can see illumiNATIONS over the espn club at night there are jugglers, stilt walkers, palm readers. it is such a beautiful place to visit and when i return i am going to take my time and look around the shops and walk to epcot and i think the epcot/boardwalk gateway brings you out between france and the uk.

i cant wait to go to all the hotels and just relax and take my time doing whatever i want.

i love being at the board walk you have beaches and cream. just to watch the kitchen sink being made kills us. Then go into ESPN and have some food watch the TV, seeing as we are from England you have so much sports going on we find it hard but fun to understand everything. And yes we always stay in this area so on a night time we walk into Epcot over to England and get a harry ramsdens (fish and chips) and a good pint of beer and watch the fire works. nothing in life good be better.

It's always fun to tour the lobbies and grounds of resorts we haven't stayed at yet. Sometimes we combine that with a meal at one of the resort restaurants. At Christmas time especially it is fun to tour the resort lobbies and look at the wonderful decorations. My personal favorite is the Grand Floridian. We plan to stay there for Christmas (and our 20th anniversary!) in a couple of years.

Shopping. We also enjoyed taking our DD to the big McDonald's that it's near Lk BUena Vista. It's the largest, and it has a cool playground in the 2nd floor (it's free). Go karts, mini golf. There's so many things you can do

Something that works well for smaller kids, rent a surrey bike (the multi-seat four-wheeled things), so the wee ones can loaf in the bench seat up front while the adults or older kids get the workout! :)

Also, if you are at a resort where you can take a boat ride from your resort to Disney Downtown, you get to relax, kill time, do some shopping, then boat back later.

Some of the resorts have kid and/or family friendly activities in their community center (some free, some cost a few bucks) that run off and on during the day.

If your resort has DVD rentals, get a movie and watch it in your room. (Or bring your own, as the rentals are a bit scratched sometimes.)

If your resort has a kids area in the lobby with cartoons playing, lounge there and nap while they watch cartoons.

Visit the Team Disney building (across from Downtown Disney between the gas station and Typhoon Lagoon) and ask if you can get a quick tour of the worlds largest sundial (which is basically the entire center tower of the building)

Relax day? People actually do those? :lookaroun
Usually for us it is a half day on the last day before we hit the road and drive home.

Sometimes a half day when we arrive, depending upon how late we arrive, and how beat we are. :snore: :snore: :snore:

We always put in one day to relax. I like to push us out the door for the park opening and she likes to sleep in, so I go alone, and then we end up going to EMH as many nights as we can. Our day of rest is usually going to the cast member stores, DTD, Boardwalk or mini golf
