Day of vs. Advance Tickets for MVMCP

Hello all.

My wife and I will be at Disney from 12/10 - 12/15 and we are hoping to attend MVMCP on the 13th. I just noticed this morning that my AP gives me a discount on tickets, but only if I buy them the day of the event.

I'm wanting to hear back from the board on what are the chances there will be tickets still available on the day of the 13th.

I'm also curious if the Jungle Cruise runs at night during MVMCP. In June we were at the MK during EMH and it was closed. I've never had a chance to ride the Jungle Cruise at night and I'm hoping to catch it while we are there in December.

I was at the MVMCP last year around that time (a few days earlier, like Dec 8 or so), and I don't recall it being terribly busy. However, it could sell out; that's the risk you take in waiting to get the AP discount. To me, it's not worth the risk if you really want to see it - buy your tickets in advance (which is what we did for the MNSSHP).

I would not want to wait...a lot of the nights sell out, especially the Fridays. I'd want them in my hand. We have bought tickets for MVMCP there but that was only after we went once and decided to go again.

I do not believe it is clear as to how Disney sells these tickets. AP holders are able to buy Advance purchase tickets with their discount. The discount however is only off of the day of event purchase price.

Example:

MVMCP advance price = 29.95
MVMCP Day of Price = 34.95

20% discount is off of the 34.95 price, not the 29.95 price. This is where the day of event confusion occurs.

I would log on and order my tickets ASAP as this event is a not-to-be-missed event.

Well if you buy them online through the passholder website, the advance price is $32.95 adult and $25.95 child for 12/13. I gather they are encouraging online buying with this special pricing.

Thanks all!!

Great feedback everyone. And excellent point about the AP discount being off the day of rate and the advance rate being cheaper. We'll be getting our tickets this weekend with any luck. Now I've got to start making dinner plans. :)

I realized that I forgot to mention that the prices I gave were simply numbers I pulled out of a hat for example. The 20% discount for passholders is a better price than the advance ticket price, but not by much. Glad I could help.

Have fun!

Clarification regarding AP discount for MVMCP: the discount is only available for day of purchases on Nov 29, Dec 1,4 & 13.

This is incorrect.

There are specific days on which you can get the AP discount, but you can get those tickets now. In fact, I got my AP discounted MVMCP tickets on the day they released them sometime back in the summer. :xmas:

Also, you don't have to order them online. You can call the dining line and get the tickets through them. That's what I did.

Just to clarify alittle more bit of information....

I JUST (15 mins ago) bought my MVMCP Annual Passes discount Tickets for the December 4th evening. They were $32.95+ tax/adult ticket. My grand total for both was $70.20.

Also, incase anyone didnt know, they offered the choices of:

-Having the tickets mailed to me at my home
-Giving me the opportunity to pick them up at will-call/guest relations at the Magic Kingdom

OR

-Just to pick them up at my hotel since I am staying on property (PopCentury).

I chose to just get them at my resort when I check in. It seems the easiest.

Hope this helps as well.

Just to FULLY clearify how the Passholder discount works....

Theme Park Annual Passholders can recieve a 25% discount off the gate price of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party when purchased in advance only. ALL GUEST will pay gate prices when purchased on the same date of the event.

Advance Price: 38.95 age 10+ / 29.95 age 3-9 (must be purchased at least 1 day in advance of the event, Friday events are excluded from the advance price)

Passholder Advance Price: 32.95 age 10+ / 25.95 age 3-9 (must be purchased at least 1 day in advance of the event, for Nov 29th, Dec 1st ,4th or 13th events only)

Gate Price: 43.95 age 10+ / 34.95 age 3-9 (based on availibilty as most nights sell out in advance)

The passholder discount offer is good for the Adult Passholder and up to 3 guest. All passholder tickets must be placed on Will Call to validate your discount.

All Will Call tickets can be picked up from the Guest Relations Window at any of the Theme Parks or Downtown Disney OR from the Guest Services Desk at any of the Disney Resort Hotels.

You can purchase your Passholder advance tickets by:
Online: www.disneyworld.com/passholder
Phone: 1-407-560-PASS

Hope this helps! :xmas:
