Had not seen this thread yesterday when I started the other one with the news report.

I still associate Davy Jones with Marcia Brady, who famously promised her fellow students that she knew him and would get him to perform at her high school prom... and the antics of trying to get him ensued. Marcia would be sad today.

She (actually Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia) wrote in her audobiography that he was actually a very nice man.

I am arriving on May 20 and was planning on heading straight to Epcot to see his last show, it would have been the first time I'd seen him perform (live). Last year I just missed him.

I fondly recall watching the Monkees growing up...
