David Letterman Pre-show?

This was at least 25 years ago, and I can't even remember what park, but I vaguely remember waiting in line for an attraction and David Letterman was on a video screen doing the pre-show. Am I remembering this correctly?

I was once chosen to be an audience participation pick. It's a little foggy since it was a long, long time ago, but I think I got to recreate the thunder effect. What I remember most was that I was wearing flip up sunglasses and I forgot I had them on. My wife grabbed me by the arm as I got up to go on stage and reached up and yanked them off my glasses. Later saying that I looked nerdy enough as it was, I didn't need to add to it. #embarrassedwife
