Dark Rides?

I am a particular fan of Dark Rides. What's your favorite and if you could create a new one what would it be?

I would create a Pocahontas dark ride in Animal Kingdom. It would be very interesting to tell the story of Pocahontas in a ride form.

Either that or a Princess and the Frog dark ride. That would be perfect!

Favorite dark ride is...Harry Potter at IOA. Second favorite is Spider-man. Disney doesn't even get the bronze for me - that goes to Revenge of the Mummy at USO.

Sorry.

All-time favorite? Horizons

Current favorite? The Haunted Mansion

And if I could build one ... I've always said Animal Kingdom needs a "Fantasyland" with 4 or 5 dark rides for kids (Lion King, Mr Toad, Robin Hood, Jungle Book, Tarzan, 101 Dalmatians, maybe the Princess & the Frog, Pocahontas or Hercules).

I know this won't be the most popular choice, :lookaroun, but I loved Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Are there better dark rides, absolutely, but this one was my favorite. It won't ever be in the park again because it doesn't have any connection to the park anymore via TV, movies, etc., but that would be my choice.

I would LOVE to see a "Pocahontas" ride that winds through a "forrest" and at some point, of course, around a riverbend. :) I think it would make a fantastic dark ride, especially if part of it is a trip into the swamplands to find Grandmother Willow.

A "Princess and the Frog" ride would be awesome! Can you imagine going through the "Friends On The Other Side" scene in a ride?! :)

the haunted mansion is great, and alien encounters was even better.

if disney created a new dark ride i would think that tron would be a great theme. anybody up for a ride on a lightcycle through the grid, evading clu?

Beauty and the Beast dark ride - you could start in the creepy west wing and eventually end up in the castle after the curse was broken. They could build a Beast (Like the Yeti only make this one work). It could be scary.....

I definitely do like the dark rides but I think I would like tron better as a roller coaster where you ride on a lightcycle.

Haunted Mansion, fo' sho'. Always loved that one with a special and unnatural kind of love.

I sort of wish they had gone with their original idea for a Muppet attraction at DHS and made the Muppet version of the Great Movie Ride. I likes me some muppets.

WOW you just critisized The Haunted Mansion and Toy Story Mania!

...and I guess your not fond of Winnie the Pooh and Snow white?

We understand you as much as everyone else thinks the imagination is crap.

It's 50/50 for spaceship earth, Ellen's Energy Adventure is funny and entertaining. The Great Movie Ride is okay. Then Buzz Lightyear's Spaceranger Spin. I wonder if I'm missing any.

The ones you listed I won't even consider dark rides but extended versions of Soarin' and othe simulator rides/thrill rides. Not really a dark ride in my opinion. Revenge of the Mummy is a roller coaster. All of those I think are considered thrill rides, not dark rides.. Am I right? :)

I have a few dark rides that I think would be great.

*Lion King - I think this is a movie that hasnt gotten the love for how crazy popular it is. I would put it in the animal kingdom as it really needs a family friendly dark ride.

*Princess and the frog - I think this is one of the most under-rated of the traditionally animated films and it just screams killer dark ride to me. Put it in the magic kingdom.

*Muppets and The Nightmare before x-mas - I would love to see 1 or both of these get a dark ride in the studios.

Tower of Terror? But I guess since you can see outside it isn't? If not, I second the Mummy at Universal.

Best besides ToT at Disney is Haunted Mansion.

They definitely could use one at Animal Kingdom. Lion King or Jungle Book would work well.

My choice would be one in Pixar Place, though... simply because they need another good ride back there. That would help the park immensely

Pocohuntas- It could be a boat ride where you board a canoe!

Alice in Wonderland- Yes i know that we already have the tea cups but I really think WDW deserves an updated version of the DL dark ride

Sleeping Beauty- After the FLE she will be one of the only Princess not to have something in the MK

Aladdin- Would be perfect for Adventureland (and maybe they could get rid of the flying carpets)

Tangled-Just needs to happen

Hercules- Build Beastly Kingdom and put this in there

Mulan- Again, would fit nicely inside beastly kingdom
